There's been no snow today in Leeds. Though it did seem like there would be yesterday. And on the train about halfway between Manchester and Huddersfield on Monday morning, I noticed snow at the top of a bunch of hills when going around the edge of a small valley...

But yeah, no snow here means no snow day. I have other excuses for skipping my two lectures today (like society commitments...).

My school is pretty bad about waiting as long as they can to close, I don't care about today as I don't have classes anyway. They piss off the teachers by making them come in about 8:00 then canceling around noon.

Yes I got a snow day. I also had one yesterday. If I am to believe the weather man, we also might have a snow day tommarow

Nope, because it's getting towards the end of Summer and almost all of Australia doesn't get snow.

Yes, and it's been like this for the past two weeks. No one can go anywhere, do anything or see anybody because the roads SUCK. It's getting depressing.

I'm getting together a team of specialists and we're planning the assassination of one Mr. Jack Frost. If you are trained in hand-to-snow combat and are willing to dodge icicles let me know.

Snow days. There aren't snow days in Finland. And we do have quite a lot of snow. We just won't let it affect our lives too much.
Yup, same here.

I remember one year, was it 1995, when I was in elementary school, that the car taking me back home got stuck because it had snowed so fucking much (and we were driving in a road that wasn't ploughed every couple of hours). And that winter had a lot of snow, but still: business (and school) as usual.

We've literally had about 6 minutes of snow where I'm at this morning...
Barely even enough to take notice of, let alone stop everything for.

Yeah, I did actually, woke up early and everything, just to find that I'm off. It kinda sucks, I sorta like school, weird, I know.

Pfft. We got over a foot of snow AND a 4 point something earthquake in the past 24 hours. Didn't close a damned thing in my area.

My school once had the biggest snow day in 10 years,

It just happened to take place right after I left from living in that country for 10 bloody years waiting for some decent snow fall !

No, but I should have. Its already snowing and its supposed to last untill this evening. And a little snow here is like the apocolypse for most people. So im hoping they let us leave halfway through.

You don't get snow days from work, why does everyone always ask that? The only reason you wouldn't go to work due to snow is if a state of emergency is declared, which typically requires a pretty hefty storm. I have personally only seen a state of emergency declared twice in my state.

Technically no - but driving 45 minutes back and forth in an area slated for icy slushfall and gusts topping 60 goddamn miles an hour WITH passengers? I'm calling my own goddamn snow day, thank you.
