I went to prom my junior year, but didn't go my senior year. I enjoyed it and had a really good time, but I didn't want to spend all that money again.

I didn't fancy going to mine as I didn't want to spend more time than neccesary with people I didn't like.

We had a prom at the end of year 11 and the end of year 13 in sixth form. I missed the first one because all of my friends were staying on for sixth form and the ones that weren't I wasn't bothered by. On the other hand, I went to the year 13 one because everyone was really fucking chill in sixth form and good times were had by all.

No, when we found out they would be holding our prom in the cafeteria we all refused to pay so prom was only about 40 people.

I did, but then I got on with most people in my Year. We had another at the end of Sixth Form as well, which was better still (mainly because by then most people I didn't get on with had dropped out or gone on to do different things).

Really though, if all your friends are staying in with you, it sounds like a great alternative. Why not make it a formal gaming session?

I never went to a prom- I didn't have a date; what would have been the point of just standing around in clothes that I paid far too much for?

I DID go to one of the after-proms though... and I won a door prize of a TV set valued at $130!

Now I ask you, what would be more worth it to you guys!

Prom was ok. Get dressed up for a dance, which most people (including me and my date) just took off most of the clothes so we could dance without fainting. All-in-all, prom is ok. Expensive, overdressed and long.

However, I have to say I did love danceing with my girl and doing a few slow dances ;)

I had noone to go with and I was not interested in just sitting there by myself. Plus, I was never that close with most of my classmates from secondary school. So no, I did not go.

The irony is that, as class president, I organised everything for my class and even had the right to a free ticket. But since I was not going, I gave it to my schoolmate instead.

Oh lord no.

On the contrary, I ran away all the way to America to avoid my Year 11 prom!

Hell yes. One of the best nights of my life. Dancing with cute girls, jamming out to country music and underground rap tracks in a party bus, and never been so drunk as I was that night. Fucking victorious.

EDIT: I am American, so this was my senior prom.

I graduated. My Basic training for the infantry also fell on that night oddly enough, so prom/safe grad were out of the picture.

But at that time, I was just waiting to get a tour under my belt anyways.

Did not go. Bad relationship issues whenever it came around and I didn't ever want to spend that much money on a dress I'd only wear one time.
Still, I hear that sometimes they can be fun. :p

Everyone was mad at me for not coming... great time, no really. I spent the day and night watching DVDs and gaming, all a prom has is people and social relations, how could that beat a nice round of Halo?

I didn't go to prom. I spent prom night in New York (our prom was after our GCSE's) and I was hanging out in Brooklyn with people I have known and loved for years as opposed to people who I didn't speak to and I didn't particularly want to know.
