How do these ex's make up the entire population of the earth world? Are they meant to be the 7 sins or something? I really hope not, it would just make it worse.
In the title "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World", "The World" is "the world" in the metaphorical sense. His life is going nowhere and getting worse, this is his fight "against the world in which he lives" to grow up and take responsibility for himself and his life.

I shouldn't have had to explain that. :\

Now really don't want to see that film, sounds like it's full of teeny angst.
dude, you're younger than most of the characters in the film.

I am going to have to go with a petulant retort, and? Maybe I should have said it has a strong emo vibe or something but it just doesn't sound the least bit interesting.
I RATHER LITERALLY DON'T KNOW A SINGLE THING ABOUT THIS MOVIE BUT I WISH TO LOUDLY ANNOUNCE HOW MUCH I HATE IT!
Honestly, I'm not shocked that you're some little kid trying to sound grown-up at all, because that seems to be a trend among people who have been clinging to half-thought-out reasons to hate this movie, but you're laying it on incredibly thick right now.
I am surprised you passed the IQ test for the escapist. Now the meaningless, petty and immature insults are out the way. By the way, way to flame, nothing but flame ... yay for repeating words!

Maybe your just hurt I don't like a film you love.

Watch any and all trailer for that film and without any other info, base your opinion on it. I also didn't say I hate it, I said it doesn't look interesting.

Judging from the person above you, it was a god awful film and I not only saved myself money but a good portion of my life.

Want to unnecessarily flame me some more? Go head, your the one who will look worse off.

Line 1: I'd call that a waste of effort, but you put about as much into that... clump of words as you did your opinion on this movie.
Line 2: Covered this in my post: I said no buffer posts.
Line 3: Let me guess: "He plays the same character in every movie"?
Line 4: Kinda pointless to continue rationalizing when we already know you're set on not knowing anything about/liking it.
Line 5: Covered this in my post: Wanting to be martyred for your lack of logic is silly. And it's what hipsters do.

Saw it 3 times in the theaters, a free screening the first, paid for the 2nd, and used a free ticket for the 3rd. I love that movie

The ending was rushed a bit, but I felt that the changes from the comic were still okay compared to most changes that are made. The soundtrack was also cool and the fights epicly over the fantastic

Read the books.

Interesting premise that was dropped on its head like a squirming toddler. "Hey, y'all, it's video-game logic in real-world-ness! Oh, wait, no, just kidding, I wanted to write an extra-long episode of Dawson's Creek instead!"

Reminded me of how my friends and I used to act in High School before I realized acting special and angsting over girls with shitty attitudes just made me an ass. Now I'm an ass by choice.

1) yeah, I am the one wasting effort ... why are you quoting me? To flame I assume.
2)What are you on about.
3)How the hell would I know what he plays, only seen one of his movies. Stop trying to be a psychic, you suck at it.
4)Again, why are you quoting me?
5)I have a lack of logic? Your quoting me to ... convince me to admire the movie? Go and watch it? Who knows, I only know I am not interested in it and would have to be paid to go and see it.

Wait, your older than me and your talking to other people like this?

Seriously, whatever your reason for quoting me is asinine, but I am sure you will carry on in some vein attempt.

No, mostly because I thought the premise sounded absolutely retarded, that and I can't stand romantic comedies.

Just stop continuing. You're trying too hard. Your bursts of emotion are just taking up space and not saying anything noteworthy.

"Stop continuing" is an interesting use of grammar. It should be a Radiohead song title, or at the very least the name of a student band.

Best mate and I saw this on the first day of release in the UK. Absolutely loved every second of it. Including how few people were in the cinema - it was pretty much the two of us and these guys, we all ended up sitting together and having a good laugh.

I really enjoyed it, wouldn't have changed it.

i really like how you quoted me... your first post was all like "i'm just interested, not bothered by your opinion at all", and after i give what i personally think, you immediatly refer me to a wikipedia article in attempt to disprove my opinion ¬_¬ i want to say why weren't you straight forward about it, but to be fair, you kinda were, so i can't say that.
uh, <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/jump/18.239416.8616700>alerriixx said that, not me. He may have just been interested in what others think, but i interjected because i would very much like to convince you otherwise. That post was my first response to you. (this one is my second.)

riottrio said:
and i'm not saying that you have to have tried to get an opinion. i just was expressing my hate for people who claim to have tried but evidently happen. and thats good for you, that you've never thought "oh, that guy seemed quite nice" and suddenly found yourself pining for them. its a weird experience when you were very certain you were straight, i'm glad you've not had to under go it.
actually i have had that experience, on a couple occasions. those feelings have always passed without me feeling a need to act on them, however. i imagine homosexuals are under a lot more social pressure to try to be heterosexual, which typically ends in failure. Chances are, he'll always be gay regardless of how hard he tries being straight.

riottrio said:
I stick by what i believe, its your own thoughts followed up by actions at the end of the day that decides it for you. and whilst thoughts can be influenced by genes/human nature/whatever you want to call it, i think actions are more to do with the individuals environment. which includes whether there are hormones, depressants and/or stimulants running through their veins, as well as their current emotions, attitude and how they've been brought up.
I never meant to imply that genetics were entirely responsible for sexuality. I agree that environment, culture, and upbringing (which, like genetics, people have very little control over.) play large roles too. At the same time, there are several documented physiological and neurological differences between heterosexual and homosexual individuals. There's no evidence of a "gay gene" or anything like that, but genetics does seem to influence sexuality in some way.

riottrio said:
its not like it matters though what i think at the end of the day. self-proclaimed bi-sexuals will still blow their own trumpets, particular people will still shake their heads at me when i say state my opinion as if i'm some poor deluded monkey for not believing everything i read and hear about as absolute fact when they themselves would ignore sources contrary to their opinion in another situation.
I'd be happy to consider any evidence contrary to my position. If you have any sources aside from your own personal experience, I'd really love to see them!

riottrio said:
anyway, Scott Pilgrim, when's it get released on DVD?
Wait, this thread's about Scott Pilgrim? Huh. November 9th in the US, December 27 in the UK.

Yep, I saw it in the cinema when it came out. I really enjoyed it and I would actually like to watch it again which I can't say for many films. I never read the comics either, in fact I hadn't even heard of them. Oh yeah, and it was a really fucking weird movie. I loved it but it had more than a few total "wtf?" moments.
