My roommate is planning to get it on Netflix. We're planning to watch it together. She was drawn to it by Michael Cera's pressence while I was drawn by the game references.
Saw it. I'd probably describe it as what Hot Fuzz would be like if it was based around videogames and comic books rather than cop shows and car chases.
Read the books beforehand, and I was going to see it anyway, being a fan. I ended up going three times, seeing first with a non-fan friend, then dragged in by a different friend, then taken by the frist friend again who now loved the series.
I saw in the cinema and it was...not as good as I'd imagined. Not to say that it wasn't good because it really was, but I somehow expected more. Especially in terms of all the hidden videogame references. Was still good, but the books are better.
