My parents were good parents: they withheld the information until I was mature enough to know what to do with it, then took me aside and told me themselves. No leaving it up to the school system (which is pretty screwed up in that area... well, in all areas, but that's another conversation entirely), no waiting for me to find out on my own, just waiting until I was mature enough to deal with the knowledge and telling me about it.

No,They figured I was mature enough to handle it myself.My father wasn't exactly a role model seeings as his Russian background led to some hilarious yet not exactly role-model type behavior. I've never done drugs in my life and I don't make trouble. I always had all the privacy I wanted and I turned out just fine. I don't think this hands off approach would work for every kid but it worked out for me because I came from a tough military family and dependence was not a trait I was raised with.

Nope. I learned from gossip sessions at school and from other more "experienced" girls. Then I found the power of the internet and of course wikipedia. Lol.
Not in any meaningful manner no. And it was very much in a "man part A gets stuff and put in to woman part B" which meant it was useless enough to be utterly ignorable. I got most of my sex ed from porno magazines I found and that was all straight anyway. But at least it mentioned the goddamned clitoris which none of the official sex ed I got ever mentioned (and which I consider pretty fucking important).
