Pokemon. They're all the same!
No. They add 100 new monsters. More stupid names, statistics and skills that you MUST learn...

Gah, just let them die. Or make a remake of Red/Blue/Yellow/Silver/Gold without changing anything.
They remade Red and Blue, theyre called "Fire Red and Leaf Green" a few years ago.

Apparently theres gonna be a gold/silver re-make,which i do intently look forward to.
Yeah, I forgot about those two. Still, Silver, Crystal and Gold are my favorite. Just the right number of monsters, some nice options, atmosphere (yeah...) and it was quite long without the unnecessary fragments.
That would be a great remake. I would re-buy a DS for that to be frank.
Franchises that must die:
MGS. Hideo Kojima just says "it'll be the last one" so people beg him to make a new one, basically stroking his ego even more. Smarmy bastard.
FF. A franchise should end when it hits double figures.

World War 2 games. Boooooooring...
Although for some time i agreed on this, but when i played Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, i changed my mind a bit. Call of Duty: World at War proved me that this has to end though.

Half-Life franchise didn't have a chance to end anywhere in the series. And i want to see and end for it. And if you count up the solid original game and sequels, they might add up to at most 4 years, excluding the gap between HL1 and HL2. So I think it's ok to have HL2-Ep3. But no more.

Apart from all what people said, i think Need for Speed has become absurd.

No franchise needs to die. Some could do with a change of pace (like Sonic, more 2D Sonic please you suck at 3D).

Besides these threads are just a bunch of people saying: "I don't like this game, therefore these games should not be made anymore despite the numerous people who enjoy them. No, I can't just not buy the game because that would require me to acknowledge other people's opinions."
Huzzah for the intelligent person! It's even worse when someone wishes death to a developer company rather than just suggesting they try something different.

How can people say Half Life?

There have been...2 proper games, 2 episodes and 2 expansion packs...that is hardly worthy of destruction.

Excluding the Expansion packs, they have all been given raving reviews, thus they can barely count as a scourge on the face of gaming

I'm pretty sure the halo series has had its time and now needs to be brought out into the yard and shot...

and then shot again...

and then ripped to shreds with a chainsaw and to have the shredded remains burnt. God I hate halo.
This.

Also in response to all the Guitar Hero talk, I've been playing Guitar Hero since the first one came out. I think it's a lot of fun, and introduces people to good music, and guitar hero has got people listening to Metallica and The Eagles, instead of the great big steaming cup of bland that is mainstream music then good on it. And yeah stupid people think that they're hot shit if they're good at it, but I've been playing real guitar for going on 6 years, so I can put them in their places and carry on.

Pokemon is chill with little kids as a video game franchise but the tv series NEEDS TO DIE. I dunno how many more seasons with different kids who NEVER age I have to watch before I even go into college...lol. Seriously, the same main character every season, he's gotta grow up some time. At least Yu-Go-Oh! changed things up and made it interesting.

Sonic, I've had some decent years but only in the old classics.

I've never like Mario and honestly, it seems that Mario is the only franchise holding up Nintendo in my eyes.

Legend of Zelda...its getting better...SLOWLY.

I've never like i-pod in general...they never really have new stuff, just revamped older models which is fine but some new ideas would be great.

Call of Duty verses Medal of Honor...they're both World War games so I see no point in competing, the incentive is the same and while they change it up a bit at times, how many different ways can you win the same war over again?

Sports games...I know they're really popular but some are released too early.

Final Fantasy is fine so long as they give me a good story (story first, game secondary). FFXII didn't do well in that regard in my opinion.

WW2 games need to die. How many times can you repeat the same war with what's basically a one man army?
