Half-Life 2:E2 ended on a cliffhanger. It can't end now.

Gears of War is only 2 GAMES INTO IT'S FRANCHISE!! Let it be!

The iPod keeps getting better and more intuitive. If this hadn't happened, then we would never be able to watch videos on our iPods and we'd have 2 gigs of music on a black and white screen. Does this sound good to you?

Call of Duty needs to die. I loved CoD1, but now it's become Activision's biggest and most successful cash cow. There have been so many games in the series, most of which are terrible; the only good ones are by Infinity Ward. Activision need to either end the franchise, or give IW sole rights to making CoD games. I'd be happy with either.

Maddien NFL, NBA.. the sports titles franchises need to go away.
Also Mega Man and Sonic need to both retire - I am very tired of seeing them rehashed over and over again... Zelda is in the "second" list.. some really good games in the series but it's time for some new faces.

Remember Turbo Graphics 16? They HAD to come up with new franchises because they couldn't use the ones from Sega or Nintendo.

Atlus made a WW2 game where Hitler is a necromancer and raised a bunch of zombies and evil spirits to fight for him or something, if that bores you, then, damn.

I doubt that without the iCrap these things wouldn't have come about eventually. Every company is always trying to make their product better so another mp3 player from say Creative, or SanDisk would have eventually come along with a color screen and the ability to play video and display photos. My problem with the iCrap, other than it's an Apple product is that it has such market saturation that things come stamped "iPod ready" when you can plug any damn mp3 player into them and have them work just fine.

I've always found Apple products to be more useful for what I'm interested in. I've also found that iTunes works much better than Windows Media Player. You may not like it, but that doesn't mean it's a franchise that needs to die.

Since this thread is about what franchises in our own opinions need to die I have just as much right to say that the entire Apple franchise needs to die as anyone else has to say that any particular franchise they dislike needs to die.

I don't like the Apple brand, I think the iPhone would be an awesome device if it didn't have that damn Apple logo stamped on it. The reason I don't like the Apple brand is because I think Steve Jobs is a huge walking piece of crap that dodges paying taxes. If Wozniak had taken over Apple instead and was running things today things might be different. Also your choices aren't limited to iTunes and Windows Media Player either, have you ever tried VLC Media player? It opens just about everything without having to go and download a codec ever and it's no where near as bloated as either. VLC is 30 MB installed, how big is iTunes? I know the package is at least 50 MB so the installed product has got to be bigger.
