Are you bisexual male or is everyone involved in this a female?
I think the "her" would imply that all involved (except for him) are female.
But I can't honestly say I beleive him.
Everyone's female, including me. : D

Strangely enough that makes it way more likely to be true

Stuff like this is exactly why I'm not an atheist. Do you see everyone? There is good in the world.

The problem though, is that most gods would not approve of it.

Most probably wouldn't have a problem with it, since they did it themselves in whatever mythology surrounds them. It's just that the dominant monotheist religions seem to have issues with that.

No God of mine would find that sinful. Why else would I (and every other heterosexual and even bisexual male) find it so super-special-awesome instinctively?

I'm an athiest. I do beleive there is good in the world. I'm just not counting on any higher power to make it happen, it's up to us to make it good... Not alot of hope then, but that's what I beleive

I know I'm meant to be offended by this, but to be honest I'm just amused and generally delighted that I managed to incite a theological debate.

I don't see any conflict between loving something and eating it. I may be sounding a bit primitive, but eating something sounds more like honoring it, like, taking it into you. You know, all spiritual-like. And according to the History Channel early humans, particularly in the British Isles, used to eat their dead as a sort of funeral, as do some cannabalistic tribe in South America or something. So I don't think I'm crazy. Atleast, not crazier than cavemen and isolated jungle tribes. Though that's not saying a lot, is it?

You don't believe him do you?

My dirty little secret? I didn't always love crabs. I used to eat them.
(I meant to quote this in my last post but it didn't work for some reason and if you can edit a post with a quote then I don't know how.)

I should probably elaborate then.

I used to like all kinds o' seafood, but hated (or was even scared of) crabs.
One holiday ages back I went with my uncle and his family out to a sort of holiday house out in a remote beach somewhere (None of you would have any idea where it is, so I wonn't bother remembering the name) and one day we caught fish, crabs and even one lobster to eat.
The bit that probably changed me to loving crabs and refusing to eat them was when we were cooking them, It was my job to lower the (live) crabs into a pot of boiling water, they definately didn't want to go down there. More often than not they'd put their legs out on the rim of the pot and I would have to push them down, breaking their legs off. Crabs can't scream, but if they could they sure as hell would have.

I didn't eat anything that day, I've refused to eat any seafood since, especially crabs.

Uhm. I wasn' trying to be offensive, miss. Sorry if I came off that way.

No offense, but that seems like a fairly dramatic response to a less than equally traumatic experience. If I were you I would make up something really traumatizing, like the crabs starting talking to you and begging for their lives and pleading that they had families, but you killed them anyway and now you spend the rest of your life repenting for it. Or something.

Then again I suppose this is the thread for truthfulness... Seafood is great though.

Imagine it as a different animal. If you had to lower live cows into a vat of boilng water, would you want to eat the cow afterwards?

thing is, the crabs do have families, and even though they weren't begging for their lives in words, they sure as hell would of been in whatever way they communicate.

I think boiling animals alive is just one of the most fucked up thing people do. I mean, serisouly, where is your empathy? Next time you get a chance, stick your hand into an oven after pre-heating it for pizza, or put it above boiling water before making pasta. You can't imagine truly how hot it is just by reading this. Just imagine that it's you, about to be boiled alive.

Anyway I don't want to preach. I'm just saying I don't think that having to boil crabs alive and see them fight for their lives can easily make someone not want to have anything to do with it again.

I used to have a crush on captain carter from Stargate SG1. I would dream about her, wonder if I would ever meet the actress, etc (this was when I was around 15-16).

You're saying you don't think it would cause someone to not want to have anything to do with it again? Is that a typo, because that makes the whole point you made about how painful it would be to be boiled alive kind of conflicting.

Another dirty little secret? As much as I would like to say otherwise, my accent is probably really annoying to listen to.

Well, fortunately you only communicate with us by typing. It's pretty hard to do an accent while ty-

Crap. Now someone's going to type with an accent just to prove me wrong.

Huh, that crab story reminded me of something. It's not really much of a secret though...

When I worked in a restaurant, I would sometimes have to help out the chefs (I was just a kitchen assisant, about the lowest rank in the horrible wonderful world of cooking) when they were pressed for time. One night I was asked to prepare a lobster because the chef was busy cooking steaks. So I went and got it out of its tank and I was supposed to kill it, but I just couldn't do it.

Thing is, when you prepare live lobster, you hold a cloth over it to make it relax, then take a big kitchen knife and just crack its shell open from the back, spilling little lobster bits all over the place. While it's alive.
I know it's probably just reflexes, but it usually twitched while it was in the oven, all stuffed with butter and garlic. Eugh. I really hated seeing that every time they did it.
A bit hypocritical, since I eat meat of any kind, I just think it seemed like an unnecessarily cruel way to kill them.

My secret: I started fooling around with my best mate when we were both about 12. He wasn't gay, but I was. I had no qualms in manipulating the relationship to last about two years longer than it should have. Nor do I fret about the fact I then 'experimented' sexually with a girl that he fancied as soon as he and I had broken up. I really ought to care that he still lives with his parents 15 years later. But I don't. Kids are so cruel.

Also, fat guys are hot, though I prefer being thin myself.
