Just rise above it. People get shit for their appearance all the time, albeit for varying reasons, and its almost always by insecure wastes of skin who feel the need to cover up their own flaws. Is their opinion seriously worth considering? No. The opinion of an imbecile is worth less than nothing. Violence isn't really a solution, the kung fu may come in handy for self defence if some nobhead decided to get physical you, but you shouldnt use it as a retaliation for verbal taunts from some fuckwit no-lifer who'll probably spend their life in a council flat on benefits.

My example is not very extreme, nor is it uncommon. I'm a little shorter than average, so I've gotten used to getting all kinds of bad attitudes from people of both sexes. Some people who have had similar problems become withdrawn and timid, but I just learned how to deal with people who have piss where their brains should be. It was obvious to me from a very early age that most people are petty and ignorant. You and me included. This means that most people are also malicious, selectively perhaps, but still malicious.

All human interactions and relationships are games of chance. They depend on the arbitrary rules, the random starting conditions and the random players. If one gets served a bad hand of cards, one can try to bluff, or fold, or just stand up and walk away. You don't have to play the same game that everyone else is playing. I've learned that I don't need acceptance, respect, or love. I'm having much more fun on my own, even if it means having few friends and living in celibacy.

Because I was bullied early on, I realized that the best reaction to aggression is obduracy. Now I can stand on my own against a bigger guy, or five guys, without fear. So I guess I could thank those people, who taught me what we are truly made of.

In highschool some guy messed with me once. One concussion later and noone in the school looked at me cross eyed for the next four years. Build a hate rep.
Also, yes, looks are everything. In highschool the butt nugget who messed with me did so because I walked down the hall in black leather platforms, makeup and a Megadeth shirt.
The joke was on him, he got his ass beat by a guy in women's boots.
Anwyay, back to the subject at hand.
Looks mean alot, and bullying is desire+opportunity. If you look like some schmuck, people will treat you like one. If not, carry a bat around.

Unfortunately, and quite contrary to popular beleif, ages 14-25, violence IS the answer.
yea. What he said. All violence aside, find some inane little detail about them and pick at that. You may be being no less of a douchebag then them but hell, they had it coming.

Living in a socialist country as Sweden the following coversation often occurs:

Hi...[Random talk]...So i'm American..."Your country sucks omg"

Or

Hi...[Random talk]...So i'm Christian..."You intolerant fucker, why do you hate gays?"

Well, I might be slightly exagurating but generally that is the kind of reaction I get. But I never really took it personal.

Honest to god i've been sitting here writing draft after draft of an argument to this and cannot conjure one, and i'm the most argumentative dick you'll find in a decent radius.

Yep, just looked at the clock, 20 minutes i've tried to find something to dispute your final sentence but have nothing.

The trick is not be a jerk about it. I see a lot of "I'll punch anyone who tries" about silly things like footballs and names. Sure, I get into fights, but only about things like my family and when I've been attacked and need to retaliate.

If you establish a reputation as that kid who "totally flies off the handle at the littlest thing" then, yes, people will not insult you. But the people who weren't will simply avoid you because they don't want to get hurt.

Or if he establishes a reputation as that kid who "totally flies off the handle at the littlest thing", he may find people will goad & insult him more, since people looking for a fight will know he's an easy target & try to prove themselves by starting easy fights with him.

In the UK reputations can be like waving a red rag in front of a bull (Proverbially speaking).

I no many peopel are goign to think that this is all contradictory but i think you should go on with the wieght lifting and kung fu. The wieght liftign will fill you otu so you dont look so thin and the fung fu dispite being ment for self defense it alter that air you have aroudnd oh so slightly.would be usefull on the few random occurances that you may need it. Lastly i think you should eat more, it would cover up to muscle yoru built to you dotn look so tought you woudl actully end up more regular looking.

Lastly may i suggest a hat?

This is something that has perplexed me as well as almost all the girls I know when quizzed have told me that they wouldn't date a red-head (I myself have dark brown hair) and when pushed even further said it was because "they just didn't find them attractive". It seems the world (or at least the female population) has turned against red-heads for no real explicable reason. My recently ex-girlfriend saw a photo of a girl I went out with when I was 18 who was a red-head and she was like "ewww, you went out with a ginger?". I haven't noticed guys being as discriminatory with red-headed girls; in fact one of my good friends is incredibly attracted to them.

It might be helpful to keep in mind that a good build will only account for so much. There is this ugly, befreckled red-head at the gym I go to who is built like an absolute tank (probably because he got teased for being a ginger). It doesn't detract from the fact he is still hideously ugly. He's got the personality of a brick too, but I find that with most of those gym junkies.
Maybe you put some focus on your personality, stimulating your intellect and hanging around with like-minded people. I know quite a few women who find intelligence sexy and those who don't find money sexy; so if you are smart and get rich it's win / win!

On a personal note, I was a metal-head back in high school; too weird for the popular kids and too dangerous for the nerds so it was pretty awkward at times (being the tallest kid in the school didn't help). I eventually found some guys who shared my love of music and were equally ostracised and we banded together. Made all the difference.

Stay strong.

For me it's all about attitude.
Sure that i'm now taller than most people and a lot more muscular than I used to be helps but it doesn't fix it.

I'm a nerd. Pure and simple. And I don't care.
My situation would go something like this-

Guy: Hey kid.
Me: What?
Guy: You're a nerd!
Me: Yeah. And?
Guy: And what?
Me: Well if that's all you were going to say then I'll be leaving. *mumble "Idiot" under breath as I walk away but still loud enough for them to hear*

or mabey-

Guy: Hey kid, you think you're so though?
Me: Yeah. In fact I do.
Guy: Well... um... UR MOM!!!

You could probably do something like this-

Guy: Hey, Ginger, why don't you dye your hair?
You: To see how many morons I can get to ask me that question. Congradulations! You're today's first MORON! (that ones kind of stupid but nobody has ever mocked my hair color so I don't have any ready-made comebacks.)

The ones where you insult them back shouldn't be used when they look ready for a fight.

If it's just an idiot though; and they ask a question like "think you're so though" or "think you're so smart" or any other you could answer "yes" and it wouldn't degrade yourself. Answer YES.

Or turn it around at them.

Guy: Hey nerd! Think you're so smart?!
Me: Yeah. And aparently you do to because you're the one calling me a nerd.

Just putting it out there, any girl with red curls (not frizzy or sticking up, but real curls) could make me roll over just to stare and drool for another 15 minutes.

I must say, i found words a much better weapon against the fists, its much better to;

a) entertain and befriend the jerk.
b) get a reputation as the funny guy and be universally ignored as a fool.
c) Insult and genuinely hurt the ass in the soul before he gives you a black eye.

On another note: i could never fight, so my opinion of it as a method of conflict resolution is a bit skewed. That said, i did once hit someone with a bike, as in 'pick it up and swing it' hit, not the run into someone hit.

Never really noticed all that much "ginger" hate-- though I do live in America, so there's plenty of other hate.

The only advice I can give is-- don't take that shit. Give that smarmy limey a throat full of teeth.

Around here, I think red heads are extremely wanted- and no, I'm not just saying that. But it depends on the guy. If you get a guy who wants a relationship and not just sex, he'll go for a brunette. If he just wants a good round in bed, he'll look for the redhead. If he just wants to pound his junk into something for two minutes, he'll look for the blond. I realize I sound blunt, but most girls I know don't like redheads because they're jealous. Redheads (females ones anyways) have always been stereotyped as outgoing, slightly crazy, and more than a little easy- even classic art supports the theory (Take "The Lady Shallot", and "Ophelia", both by Waterhouse, as an example). Girls get jealous on both conscious and subconscious levels, but if questioned as to why they don't like a certain type of people, they'll usually be able to drudge up an answer before realizing how silly it is.

Girls usually treat me pretty badly and I have mostly guy friends as a result, but only one of those male friends can safely say that he didn't come around at first because he wanted to "get with me". All of my guy friends have originally come into my life because I'm decent-looking and nerdy, lol. They've all had a sexual attraction to me at some point. So it's safe for me to say that men like me a lot more than women do, and every single one of my friends will tell you it's because they're jealous.

Maybe it's like that with guys too, lmao. Red hair usually signals Irish ancestry, and we Irish can hold our booze better than those dumbass college jocks any day :-D So maybe the guy who hit you in the face is really just jealous, lol.

If you're talking guys wanting red-headed girls you're bang on the buzzer there. All the red-headed chicks I have known are incredibly fiery (much like the Irish and Scottish people I know) and you do kind of wonder if that ferocity translates over to the bedroom. I was laughing my ass off over the blonde comment. The jealousy thing might be a factor when we are talking about females commenting about other females (after all, the girlfriend who made a comment about one of my red-headed exs was in fact blonde herself)
It just doesn't seem that the street runs both ways, i.e. girls wanting to hook up with red-headed guys. Could be wrong; it could be like that just over here. However it seems that there is an undercurrent of a notion that red-headed guys are genetic throwbacks (apologies to you red-headed guys out there, I'm just stating what I've heard).

Every red-headed guy I've known has always been much smarter than the others. So yeah, I'm all for ginger-men, lol. Although I suppose the stereotypical red-headed male isn't the most sexually appealing; that is to say that a girl at a club probably won't go for him over a more muscular jock-type guy.

So, point made. But the ginger-men out there can just keep in mind that at some point, women will pass the phase where looks are everything and then you'll be McDreamy to them because you're smart. Not that you're all ugly.... I'm going to stop digging myself deeper into a hole.

Discrimination based on appearance often exists only because people divide people who look differently and think they are different because of how they look. If you sort people into red-heads who behave in a certain way, black people who behave in another, you're just one step short of racial superiority and discriminating yourself. If you look at a group of people, see three black guys, two blondes, one brunette and one redhead you're almost discriminating there already, you're already dividing into them and us. When you assign behaviour or other characteristics to that appearance (gingers are smart, blondes are slutty) you're basically discriminating yourself. If I look at that group I see six humans, nothing more. If more people reason like that, discrimination will decrease (based on things we can control ourselves (to an extent), if not overall discrimination. But at least then it'd be based on the choices we make, and not because of how we were born).

Has that episode of SouthPark been referanced yet?

Anyhow, you're gonna get some sort of discrimination anywhere you go or even if you looked completely different. People just hate other people.
