Thank you kind sir!Gene O said:Gah!! I know your pain and it's much worse than it sounds. If your problem is in the tooth and the dentist wants to perform a route canal, do it. If your tooth is dead the dentist won't even need anesthetics.
In the meantime, when I used to get gum infections and had passed recommended pain killer consumption for the day (usually around 10am) I'd hold small pieces of ice between my lips and gums to numb the pain. Other than that, distraction is the best advice. I think CoverYourHead has the best idea - find a web comic and read it. PVP and Penny Arcade each have more than a decade of archives. That will occupy your mind for a while.
Best of luck to you.
Does that include Jar Jar in any way? I'm not sure I could survive teeth issues and him at the same time.Renamedsin said:I just came home from a star wars maraton! and hell does that takes your mind of everything that is wrongmarter said:Go watch every Star Wars or Pokemon movie in a row.![]()
Where on earth did you find that out from?! I'm not questioning it at all, just wondered how you came about that bit of information.JEBWrench said:Peroxide.
Yes, I'm serious.
Mix up a little peroxide with an equal amount of water, and wash your mouth with it for about 30 seconds. It helps soothe the pain and will help with the infection.
Yeah, try this and you won't have to feel any pain ever again since you will never wake up again.Mookie_Magnus said:Sleeping pills + Pain pills + Liquor = Unfeeling Coma.
You'll be out for several hours. Have fun.
No i think it would work, i did 4chan for about 3-4hours lastnight. but that was a mix of other things i was doing......sethzard said:No, that would just increase the painFluffles said:4CHAN IS THE ANSWER!
Not to protest your suggestion in any way, But I found it very funny that someone who has "Towelie" for their avatar, is suggesting weedKaZZaP said:Fuck the drugs the fed give you that have a very high chance of you getting addicted or just fucking you up, go get some weed.
I did it in one sitting (from 1am or so, so not all night...)TheFacelessOne said:YES.James_Sunderland said:Go on a Red vs. Blue marathon and try and watch all 8 seasons in one night.
No I think he meant if you go on /b/ (screw rules 1 and 2) you can block out the physical pain with the visual pain.sethzard said:No, that would just increase the painFluffles said:4CHAN IS THE ANSWER!
Right now I just came back from the hospital having suffered third degree burns on my forearms and elbows.Cgull said:Hello fellow Escapists!
Long story short, I have a massive infection in my gum causing large amounts of hurt and painkillers aren't able to do much more than take the edge off at the moment (I can't see the dentist until tomorrow so options are a tad limited).
In anticipation of another sleepless/hellish night, what would you, in all your wisdom, suggest I do to distract myself OR, what have you done in the past when in a similar situation?
This can be games, films, videos, amusing youtube clips...anything at all that can while away 20 minutes onwards

I see your infection and raise you Testicular Tortion. Nothing is as embrassing as explaining you had surgery because one of your balls was trying to choke itself.Evil the White said:Get a testicle infection. That is true pain. And emabarrasing at the same time.Daystar Clarion said:Get appendicitis, it'll give you some prespective on the pain scale.
Seriously, the night before I went into hospital was the longest, most painful night I have ever experienced.
Of course, my female friends would argue about period pains, but they're never going to have a hideously inflamed testicle, and then have to walk with it to the hospital. And then get starved all day in case you need an op.
I really feel for you mate, i had the same thing. The infection was above my front tooth and pushed it out of its 'socket' about 5mm. The had to drill a hole to drain the puss out.. it was the most painful experience of my life.Cgull said:Hello fellow Escapists!
