DISTURBING. Not scary.
Moments when you look at the TV or monitor and cringe at what you see.
It could be because of some particularly graphic violence, 2 guys and cow having sex, or the senseless slaying of innocent civilians.

Mine are:
Jericho. Some of the levels are really disgusting. Especially the Roman era one. Walls are literally coated in blood and guts and the head honcho for that level is a pastey skinned, naked fat guy that can barely walk. He hangs from the ceiling (on hooks through is shoulders) and proceeds to spew toxic blood and guts from his stomach, which he rips open when he's near you.
You kill him by shooting at his exposed organs when he's trying to spew the goo on you.

Not scary, but utterly disgusting.

I don't think I have ever come across anything like that yet. I haven't seen anything disturbing enough to write home about.

I find it easier to distance myself from violence/scary stuff/disturbing things in games.

The Suffering: Ties That Bind.
Trying to get through a dilapidated building and hearing a crying baby, then a screen judder as the body is shown under a sheet surrounded by blood. Pretty intense.

Those zombie creatures from Ocarina of Time always disturbed me and so did a lot of things in Majora's Mask, the moon for instance.

Although I'm ashamed to admit that I kinda liked the game, I'm gonna say "Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude" and "the part that ends kinds like The Crying Game".

And rightly so. That would be horrifying. So yeah, the Alistair thing.

Silent Hill 2. Pyramid Head raping two of the mannequin monsters, I was honestly like WTF?

I was about 18 when it came out and id never seen anything like it in a game before. Despite the game already being pretty twisted.

The first time I played Silent Hill. When you go in the lift (hospital?) and it has 4 buttons and then you come back and it has 5 so you press 5. Then it goes other world, you get worried and go back only to find the buttons are back to 4 and don't work.

It didn't scare me, but really made me feel disconcerted. It was also one of the first games with good urround sound. Again, not scary, but really bothered me at a visceral level.

I was 11 when I played the first silent hill. I got to the alley and saw the hanging fleshless man thing and promptly had nightmares for 2 weeks and refused to even go near my Playstation cause I was sure the disc was evil and would kill.

Most of The Suffering and it's sequel are pretty disgusting, with scenes of prisoners/random people being impaled, disemboweled, dismembered throughout. Also the monster designs were generally disturbing to say the least.

At that exact point, my mate had to switch off and had to watch Cartoon Network for an hour before going to bed. He was 20.

Sorry OP, this example is more terrified than disturbed.

Killing my own father, Andrew Ryan, with a golf club was pretty graphic. Especially when it got stuck in his forehead. I mean, his face was all bloody and brutalised, and he kept on repeating: "A man chooses, a slave obeys."

Phew, thanks for that (thought it might just be me) One thing is sure, they wouldn't/couldn't do that scene the other way round, female backing away from a male character :-O
Don't get me wrong, I am glad that neither my character nor Alistair died killing the archdemon, but still...
