The Fallout 3 DLC is bloody brilliant. Especially The Pit and Point Lookout.

[sub]I really need to play through Broken Steel someday.[/sub]

DLC gives me shiny new motivation to go back to something I already enjoy to begin with. And most of it has come through.

BioWare with Bring down the Sky, Overlord and Kasumi
Each of them added not only to the hours I can spend in the game, but offered more character development for Commander Shephard and his/her crew.

Ubisoft (don't hit me please) and their SC:Conviction Insurgency pack.
I love these maps, 'aright? Almost more than the originals included for Deniable Ops. They feel more detailed, less linear (albeit shorter) and.. well. Well. Yeah.

Them are the ones I can think of at the top of my head.

As someone who won't capitulate on this issue, because the vast majority of DLC is a blatant ripoff, I hate this "feature" with a passion - especially when they're clearly holding back content from the original releases. I fear it's only going to get worse.

Edit: sidebar: when someone says that DLC is becoming less and less optional, and someone else storms in to say "YOU ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE DERRR!" - yeah, that second guy is a fucking idiot. We're all well aware that no one has a gun to anyone's head forcing him or her to buy pathetic DLC for outrageous sums of money. Take the comment within the context of the conversation, for fuck's sake. If, at some point, games become so reliant on DLC that players feel compelled to purchase the stuff for fear of completely missing out on the intended experience, that DLC is no longer a "choice" with respect to that game. The game itself becomes the choice, and at that point you're talking about the possible cancellation of the hobby as a whole for individuals who cannot stomach the cost.

GTA: TBOGT, it was well worth the £14 I paid for it. I have all 5 Fallout DLCs, but I don't think they would count becasue I got them with the GOTY edition.

The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned for Borderlands. I've been meaning to pick on General Knoxx, as I hear it is even better, but I haven't gotten around to it.
Exactly this. The shamble-tasticness was a nice change of pace from the rest of the game. And it was funnier than any other DLC I've played.

I personally enjoyed the Gears of War 2 All Fronts and Assassin's Creed 2 DLC (even though the latter should have been on the game)

The early DLC content for Dragon Age: Origins was really good adding a backstory to the Wardens and new weapons and powers.
But it doesn't count because it was going to be part of the game until they decided to take it out and make us pay extra for it :-(

Loved the Overlord DLC for Mass effect 2. Other DLC's i've enjoyed are the GTA4 expansions(Lost and damned and Ballad of gay Tony) and the Fallout 3 DLC.

The Fallout 3 DLC was obviously great, and I liked the Assassin's Creed 2 ones as well. The new memories were worth it. Oh, and the Force Unleashed Jedi Temple and Tatooine were a lot of fun.

I don't get DLC unless it's free - I'd say Valve give the best though, since they give new chapters in L4D/2 for free.

My favorite free DLC was "Bring Down the Sky" from Mass Effect 1, and paid for was "Return to Ostagar" from Dragon Age: Origins.

Really loved the Normandy pack for Mass effect 2. After playing through the first game, wandering around the crash site was heart wrenching...sob...

The Shivering Isles in Oblivion was pretty fun, but I didn't technically download it. GOTY edition saves time.
The free stuff for Way of the samurai 3 has been pretty fun so far. Imagine a Skull-headed, carboard samurai with a chainsaw sword that has a fish tail on the end of the handle. Ludicris, but funny... ludicrisly funny.

I have to say i enjoyed the versus mode for Resi 5. Probably only because i was pretty damn good at it.

I remember an American player thought i must be Japanese due to my madskillz although the game clearly shows a uk flag next to my name...
