Personally, I would prefer that the resources be used on something other than Fable, which is, in my opinion, the Halo player's RPG. Someone before me said it better: The RPG for people who don't like RPGs.
Fable 1:
Not a bad game, but not a terrific game. My friend freaking sanctified the desk upon which he placed the case and I could just never understand why. The story was bland. It definitely was not Final Fantasy (which you have to admit pools a great deal of time into its story). The combat was there, but I found myself in close-combat a few too many time for someone who tried to be a spell-caster, which led to me being an everything, which annoyed me greatly. Also, something that got on my nerves a bit. Why did all the people look like dolls? They had giant head, giant torsos, and giant hands. Their mouths looked hinged like a puppet for God's sake. Not to mention the overly cumbersome design of the weapons. a real person would have to wield the "Hero's" fishing rod with three hands to use it properly the way its sized in the game. Again, it wasn't a great game, but I played it, beat it, and would have buried it were it mine.
Fable 2:
This game was... broken. There was no real story. There was zero character development, for anyone, not even you to a degree. The last boss. The characters still looked like dolls (rage!). The combat, which, when mastered, was kind of involved in Fable one was simplified to two buttons and made fighting as simple as, well, pushing two buttons. When I played through, I played on my friend's pre-ordered copy of the game, so I had Master freaking Chief's armor from the get-go, meaning I never had to upgrade my equipment (other than the gun (until he got Master Chief's gun)). I was able to more or less be only a skill character, but found no use to not spam into magic to one-hit everything. I had so much money that I didn't know what to do with it. I asked my friend what I could do with it and he said I could buy real-estate. I asked him why I should do this and he said to make money. We had reached a conundrum and he didn't even see it. The weapons, and weapon upgrades, were simple and un-inventive. I liked the gargoyles. For about five minutes. Then they started repeating themselves. Then I hated them. It just, well, it wasn't fun.I wouldn't have made to the end had my friend not played my account once after I had left his house.
I may rent Fable 3 if I decide to get Natal and if I have some extra money to burn (a fantasy in my world). I just... aren't there better things "visionaries" like Molyneux could be working on than this broken series?
