In general I assume people are (in order):
american
asian
british
from an unimportant country (ie. everybody else)

The asian is really strange to me since I'm not sure I have ever actually met an asian person on a forum, and yet it is still me second assumption.

Yes and no. I don't assume they are from the same country but I do assume they are all robots on the internet.
[small](I know that isn't the case at all but it's fun to pretend)[/small]

I don't think I do, although I do read everyone's posts in an American accent, even if I know they aren't American.

Well I generally think the opposite. I am surprised anytime someone is with the exception they proved to be an idiot. Then I generally think they are American since I am idiot as well.

I'm from the UK. I usually assume everyone's from the US unless I find any evidence otherwise.

Through my many years of frequenting forums and playing WoW I've come to the conclusion that besides me and three other people the internet is full of Americans, Russians and the Dutch.
Those are the groups I seem to come across the most.

Nope, that would be quite silly of me. If i assume anything on a site like the Escapist i assume the people i am talking to are either American or European, but those are some pretty damn broad categories so i wouldn't really count that.

Really? Excluding an imageboard that must not be named, I don't think I've ever run into any Russians online.

Привет с Южного Урала! (Greetings from the South Ural!)
Unexpected, huh? ^_^
Here I am. As Russian as a white bear on a Red Square. :)
Nice to meet you. :)
And as I'm Russian, it makes about 99% of this community an "Outworlders" to me... It's first non-Russian internet site I visited in my whole life (and third day I "speak" English). I abandoned all hope to meet someone, who speaks our "great and mighty" language...

God, no. If I did, I would never talk to any of you. a nation of scotsmen, that's one thing, but a forum full of them? I get enough of that at school.

depends which site it is, if it is youtube i assume everyone is an american tard or otaku. on this site for example i assume people are mostly from the uk or canada. it really does depend on the site, and although im embarrassed to say this my prejudice does get the better of me in terms of stereotyping the intelligence of a certain large north american country.

i am however always assume that the web is danish free, despite the fact that i know some people from denmark and they use the internet, i am always surprised to find a countrymen online for some reason
