Lets say you had an unlimited supply of your countries official currency. Do you think you would buy yourself to happiness, or only prolong it until you've depressed yourself?

Personally, I believe Money can't buy happiness. But it can sure as hell rent it. The love from love ones and respect is the only way to be respect. But seriously. I would be loads more happier in a million dollar house than in some ghetto, no matter how many people like me.
Money can't buy happyness, but it can help :)

Stole this from motto of the moment.

"Money can't buy happiness. But money can buy ice cream, and I don't believe there's a difference".

To put it in the wise words of somebody I dont remember, "Whoever said that money could not buy happiness had forgotten about little puppies."

Money can not buy happiness, for it is not a product sold in stores. But, it sure as hell can buy everything else, and that tends to make people happy.

there is no way money can directly buy happiness, sure it can buy you things that could bring happiness into your life in one way or another. but if simply having money makes you happy that doesn't count because you arn't spending your money on said happiness.

Unlimited money? I'd just give money to the poor.
I imagine that would give a significant feeling of pride an accomplishment, especially if it was organised to significantly raise the standard of living of the unfortunate. I can't speak for you, but I take pride in my successes and achievements, and visibly alleviating the suffering of others seems like a pretty sure fire way to make myself feel good.

My unhappiness all comes from the lack of security being poor brings. I already have great friends and I'm in good health and all that stuff. The only thing that keeps me unhappy is the prospect of being out on the street once I run through my savings. Deep enough pockets would absolutely end that concern.

Being clean, eating well, traveling to places we want to see, security... all these things make us happy. I'm interested in exactly what kind of chemical imbalance would allow someone to sit around in filth on the side of the street with no prospects and be happy, because I'd seek treatment if I suffered from it.

I am a staunch opponent of the belief that money does not lead to happiness. Yes, I am well aware that the statement itself was probably coined by some poor impoverished bastard to make himself feel less suicidal about having no money, and that the real point is that we as humans will find some way to suffer no matter what our financial status is. However, I don't care if I'd still be miserable; I'd be miserable on a wave runner, which is a lot better than being miserable in a basement.

Can it buy it? No. Can it buy things to make it for you? Yes.

Honestly, the sheer possibility it creates for you is enough for you to make your own happiness through it. No more jobs or working, can let you truely live your life. Whether it be buying a chalet in the mountains and having awesome winters, letting you explore another city to give you the opportunity to ingrain yourself in it, or allowing you to host the most epic games of paintball/go-karting ever created. These are just a few ideas off the top of my head, but honestly, I can't think of a problem coming from having an unlimited amount of money. Except maybe all the new 'cousins' I'd have that I never met.

I reckon money can make life easier for you, so it can take away some stress and some pressure. But I don't think it can buy happiness. I wouldn't want to buy happiness anyway. Having a lot of money would give me the time and the opportunity to search for happiness, but it wouldn't buy it directly.

I could be happy with lots of money, of course I'd just buy guys and go shooting more. Then I would keep what I am doing now.
