Only time I ever had a game for a system I did not own, was because it was an early x-mas gift. We got the system on the actual day. For the curious, the game was Tony Hawk: American Wasteland for the 360.

No, unless I buy the console along with it or know that I'm getting the console soon anyway.

No, and don't see the point on that. Only reason would be if I KNOW I will get the console soon down the line (as a gift or something)...

Welcome to the escapist, I hope you enjoy your stay, don't go into the basement. I hope that short post was a one off, and you will contribute more in the future.
O.T. No, because that would be a stupid thing to do, unless it was for someone else or by accident.
Thanks for the welcome. My post communicated basically as much information as your own post did... plus it was a closed question.
It's not the quality, it's the consistency seems to be the motto around here. Even if it is a simple question and/or answer, people like it if you elaborate, two word answers don't contribute nearly has much. My post was 51 words long, yours was 2.
Your first sentence doesn't make sense. And I cbf explaining the the wonders of being concise in response to quantitative queries at the moment... Dw about it.

Back when the Xbox 360 was first launched, I pre-ordered the console a bit late, and so I had to wait a month for one. They decided to send me the games which were in the order seperately, however, so consequently I had Project Gotham Racing 3 and Perfect Dark a month before I got my console. I guess that counts, sort of. Other than that, no though.

I'm a massive GTA fan and a PS3 owner. I bought Episodes from Liberty City when it was released for XBox. I have a mate round the block who lent me his 360 for a while (He has both consoles) while I played it. I bought it again when it came out on PS3 and have no regrets about it at all.

Don't be so damn ridiculous. Sorry but in all seriousness buying a game for a console I don't own sounds pretty stupid, no offense. Couldn't you have just got one for the Xbox if you have it?

Mental. You're mental

I've got a mate who pretends to be poor even though he constantly eats loads and gets drunk all the time and so he refuses to buy his own console and keeps buying games to play on my consoles. I hate it, I really do. His gf just bought a 360 and now he plays them on hers rather than mine so that makes me a bit happier, but he still refuses to buy his own fucking console

I bought Final Fantasy: Origins, Anthology, 7, 8 and 9 for the Playstation 1. I also bought Castlevania Symphony of the Night, and Resident Evil 2 and 3 for the Playstation 1. I never bought a PS1, and it wasn't at least another year before I bought a PS2 so I could play those games (and others obviously).

Not a waste of money if you know you will purchase the console. If I had waited to purchase the aforementioned games, it is quite possible some of them (like FF7) could have been alot harder to find.

I do. I support my favorite game developers. Not the console it's on. Which is why my friends think its weird that I would buy a game for the XBox 360 and PS3 when they know I hate those consoles.

I bought a copy of Sweet Home for the Famicom,[footnote]It was $3, and that game kicks ass. Tell me you wouldn't do the same.[/footnote] but that's about it.

Unless it's a gift, no. I'd rather get more than something to take up shelf space for my money.

I'm going to go with a big NO in this case- unless I find a rare game - like a copy of Earthbound or something for a really cheap price.

Otherwise, I don't see the point in wasting my precious money.

Hmm, I heard that FF13 was killing PS3s so it might be better that you don't have one...

OT no I wouldn't, unless it's to keep from feeling guilty about using emulators.

Nah. Definitely not.

Unless I was goig to get the system within the week, I definitely wouldn't even consider it.
