I'm the only one of my group of friends who listens to what I listen to, and even though I get mildly teased for it, it doesn't bother me at all. You like what you like, can't help it!

Whitechapel and Abigail Williams, they pretty much sum up the combinations of music i listen to ;D.
That and Limp Bizkit, i don't care how much i get flamed.
That guy above who mentioned Suicide Silence, they're okay for a generic Deathcore band.

If someone tells me that Seasick Steve sucks balls and I should listen to something else I'm not going to do it.

But I will no longer play Seasick Steve around them. After a brief 'trying to change their mind' phase.
That guy is win. The fact that he started out busking and became famous for that is awesome, as well as playing with only three strings. Personally I like music. Genre holds no grip over me, and it's easy to find jazz, rock, metal, classical, country and rap songs in my playlists. As long as it sounds good, I'll listen to it and let everyone else think what they like.

I know my taste in music's in the acquired taste category. I mean, I listen to stuff that most people would consider good - but I've also gotten into quirkier bands like They Might Be Giants, Jim's Big Ego, Jonathan Coulton and Honest Bob and the Factory-to-dealer-Incentives. Blame Barenaked Ladies.

So yeah, I like the lyrics even if the music's kinda out there.

It all depends on who I'm around. With my dad, I really didn't have to worry because I got a chunk of my musical taste from him so we're okay. My sister is the same way, but there's stuff I skip cause I know she hates it.

With my friends I don't really care, if they ask I'll skip it. If they don't have the balls to speak up, then I leave it alone.

The only two people I ever change my music for is my Grandma, who is an 89-year-old devout Christian woman and I'd like her not to die of a heart attack, and my boyfriend. Just because I know we have different taste. When we first started living together I would skip anything remotely "girly music" until he looked at my Music folder one day and told me he loved Jewel, reminded him of hanging out with his mom. So now the wall has come down there.

Sometimes I do the annoying blasting my music out of my car. Mostly if I had to have a really bad day and my car's radio makes this whining noise. Since I'm to cheap to replace it, I turn up my music to drown it out. One other time I get annoyed and do it, is when I pull up next to car blasting the Mexican Hat Dance stuff, cause where I used to live, that's all you'd ever hear. So I would start to play Flogging Molly, just to be annoying. It was fun for me.

I don't care who likes my music, but out of consideration for others, I won't make them listen to it. I generally listen to Punk/Emo/Rock of all sorts, but I will listen to just about anything if it appeals to me.

Don't really care as long as it's my friends. If I'm with my parents I try to be respectful as far as lyrics go. If I'm with my dad, I'll usually just crank some classic rock, which is just fine by me.

I have the weirdest taste in music known to man, so if I let myself get affected by what other people thought about it, I probably wouldn't listen to music what-so-ever...
