Do you consider "shit" offensive?

Nah. I'm rather potty-mouth in real life. The 'c' word does offend me though. Only trailer trash with no class uses that word.

I talk pretty dirty around girls I'm sexually involved with, but I never use the C word. I find it's a mood killer on both sides. I save that word for when "*****" just isn't a strong enough epithet to display my distaste for a particularly evil woman (or, on some occasions, man.)

Throughout the years of my life, I've heard a wonderful array of colorful language from a wide variety of people. But the number 1 word that stood out among everything is shit. "I hate that shit!", or "Do you have the shit?", or "This shit is cold." are a few examples of this word. Having heard it so much, I don't even think twice about using it in social company, unless at the dinner table or in the presence of relatives or small children. What do you think?

Im not keen when its used like that as it sounds awful and chav-like. But i use it if ive done something wrong... like: "oh shit, i left the rabbits out for 6hrs in the kitchen overnight!"

I only find shit offensive if it is actual shit and is rubbed in my face. Other than that I swear quite often.
