As reigning sovereign of the land, I do enjoy my job. I could use more women obsessing over me, however.

I hate my desk job. I don't even do any desk work, I'm like a glorified information center, but no one ever comes in and asks for info. Officially I am a security guard but the job is actually changed to the point that I can't ensure the security of anything or anyone in the building including myself. So I accomplish nothing.

Right now I am on the waiting list for a college in another city which if I get in I will be taking Game Development and will finally have a start on a career I will enjoy.

Do I enjoy my job?
This hasn't ever been important to me. I hate my job. I hate every part about it. I hate the hours, the people I work with, the people I serve, the work I do, the work others DON'T do, everything.

God I love getting paid though. So I show up, on time or early, for every shift and no one seams to realise what I'm thinking about them. It's been like this ever since the novelty of first getting a job wore off and I recommend, to anyone in the same position, that if you're going to base your working life around lying to people, don't lie about your feelings to yourself.

Dammit, that sounded a little preachy...

tl;dr
I get paid = might as well be happy about that

I work at a Cumberland Farms. I used to be an assistant manager, and it was okay. The people I worked with were awesome, most of my customers were awesome...then my store closed.

I got shipped about 30 minutes away & demoted (at least they couldn't dock my pay woopdeedoo). The area I work in is mostly really poor people and drug addicts. The people I work with are two faced (that's putting it nicely). The assistant manager (a complete moron btw) complains to everyone about how much money I make (she's feeling threatened I imagine, I can do the job more efficiently than her and am favored by the supervisors in the area because I don't have a bunch of complaints filed against me). My manager is constantly screwing everything up and is closer to being fired with each passing day.

My schedule is different every week, either late late nights (until midnight) or 4am starts...I'm pretty miserable there and I've only been there since August. :(

I'm working on finishing college but it all feels so far away...

It is $7.25 an hour here. I make tips which isn't a reliable means of self-preservation, but does mean it is legal to pay me $2.13 (which is the minimum wage for people who make tips that has gone up 10 cents in a decade).

I do cleaning in a primrary school, but only an hour or two after school each weekday. I find it mind numbing, but I don't complain. I don't get paid to complain.

I am a University Professor on my first year on the tenure track, teaching Musicology--specializing in Popular Music. I love my job. The pay? Sure. It's good. $60k. Though I have a LOT of student loans that I'm now paying off, so two thirds of my pay goes to pay my loans...so I'm not exactly living large, but I'm better off than many others, so I don't complain. Are the hours fair? I work pretty insane hours, but I'm single so no one gets mad that I'm working from the morning until 10pm (or sometimes 2am) Monday through Friday...and generally long hours on the weekend as well. I don't mind it...though I'm pretty exhausted and run down at the moment.

Luckily the summer is coming soon so I can work on my research. If have to get 2-3 article manuscripts out this summer if I want to keep this great job.

I work five to six hours a day, five days a week in a food court at Target. The hours are reasonable and the pay is good ($8.25 per hour) but man is the work hard. I'm cashier, dishwasher, cook, and janitor all rolled into one. Most of the time I work by myself, if I'm lucky I'll have someone else working with me for about two hours to help with the more time-consuming tasks but that's about all the help I'll get, and don't get me started on closing shifts. Ugh, I hate closing shifts.

Although I would like to work less days per week but work longer days, say seven or eight hours a day. I'm indifferent to my job.

Always wanted to be a programmer since I was about 12. Failing that, I would have liked to be an architect.

What do I do? I write software that allows for the design of housing... go figure huh. Pay is really good, co-workers are great too. Only downer is the drive is a bit far (35km) but overall I love my work.

Ugh, not even remotely. I work at a supermarket, do everything from working the register to cleaning and stocking the shelves. It's dull, the pay is shit and my co-workers are just whiny bitches.

Worst is that it's work that's just bad for someone of my physique. I'm just too tall to do a lot of the chores I have to do. I often go home hurting all over.

Hopefully it'll end when I manage to go back to school in September.

I don't really have a job, but being a student is massive levels of fun.

I spend my days coding, and my evenings geeking it up. Perfect.

My job is pretty awesome. I'm an artist at s game studio, working on a badass AAA game. The working environment is fairly open and lets me be creative, and we're still in the beginning of the project so the hours are decent. I work about 8-10 hours a day, depending on my tasks. Pay is kinda all right, but royalties make up for that.

It's what I always wanted to do, and it's still hard to believe I actually get to do it. :)
Which game, may I ask?
What sort of art? Character art? Environmental art?

Yes, I'm a sound engineer. I do mostly concerts in a local music "temple", Festivals and some studio work. I wouldn't trade it for anything else, sure it's hard work and wether you'll get paid really depends on how hard you are willing to work. If you really put everything into it you can earn up to 7000 a month, a had that in around this time last year, did sound effects on killzone 3, 2 times lead sound engineer on major festivals in holland (Pinkpop and Graspop) Had a lot of big musicians for the 5 year anniversary of our music center and I got to work with AC/DC and Metallica in Ahoy, Rotterdam. (work with their crew on the acoustics and such of the stadium) About the longest, hardest, best few months of my career. On the other hand if you have an attitude of trying to do things easy, you don't make shit.
