Well, there are coming four certain games to my mind.
Bayonetta, Brütal Legend, Blazblue and Far Cry 2.
Strangely, 3 of those 4 are starting with a B...

The awe and wonder of Mass Effect was simply stunning, from the views of Space and the Citadel, to the various alien races, to the giant scale epic wars, some of the best characters in games and of course the Ashley/Shepard romance ending and subsequent final mission just left me with this feeling at the end of pure awesomeness... like I had seen one HELL of an awesome movie.

Also got to give mention to the Halo trilogy for each time giving me something to go 'woah' at, however I won't dwell on that because pretty much everyone's aware of it by this point.

I got the "awesome"-feeling as I was walking around innocently enough in the starting area in RDR, just checking out environment and controls.

That's a pretty good sign for the rest of it!

Every time I went into a new area in Final Fantasy XIII - the range of environments and how amazing they look is extremely impressive.

The first 10 minutes of Mass Effect 2...

You start by getting your ass kicked by an alien warship, and your character is helping the crew abandon the ship. You walk about 10 feet before you get to an area where there is a massive hole ripped in the hull. A quick glance to your right and you can see the entire planet. There's also no gravity left in this area so your boots lock to the floor but everything else is floating around. That part was pure awesome in every sense of the word, and then they follow it up with a cut scene showing Shepard getting spaced.... epic win

I remember seeing Vrtra for the first time in FFXI, that was intense.

Also although I just got it, i'm so damn excited about playing through Galaxy 2, gaming never felt so good.

Yep, Red dead redemption, definitely. Just stopping to see the rays of the morning sun streaming through the trees on the ranch reminded me just how stunningly beautiful the game environments are, in addition to it being damn entertaining!

Mass Effect 2, Knights of the Old Republic and Baldur's Gate II had me thinking "AWESOME" quite a few times, mostly at the story and twists. VERY hard to think of any other games that do that. Thinking.... Hmm... WoW had a few of those moments. Many awesome sights back in the day, always loved the art style.

I would say Assassins creed did this for me. Especially at the end when you
Beat the piss out of the damned Pope with your bare hands!
Seriously, after that I was so happy, words are barely able to describe.

Just because it's so recent... Red Dead Redemption... I can't even begin to list how often that word has been uttered from my mouth while playing it... "Awesome..."

Saying that, how about every God of War game? Christ, the first game blew me away.

Mass Effect 1&2 especially in the cutscene moments where I found myself going "OH SNAP........OH SNAP!!!!!"

(*spoiler* (dont know how to make the fancy click here for spoiler box...and yes I know it has been out for a while, but there are those people who give grief about shiz)especially after saving the council in ME1 *end*)

Red Dead Redemption gave me the "Awesome" feeling when I realized I spent a whole day hunting with no story progression and I still felt like I had a blast.
So yeah....ME,ME2,Red Dead Redemption some fine examples of "Awesome!!!!" moments for me

I remember loving old Playstation games like Ape Escape when I was younger, and then Shadow of Rome when I loved Roman history. Recently Mass Effect 2 blew me away also. Red Dead Redemption was good, but nothing awe inspiring.

Assassin's Creed, if that game can be fun and exciting even when I'm mostly wasting time climbing viewpoints and traveling a shit load with a horse I stole I can't wait to see how much more fun Assassin's Creed 2 will be.

Grappled myself to a gas container in Just Cause 2 then shot it, flew up about 100 feet and jumped off just before it exploded. I did that in the demo and thought "Awesome! I'm buying this game!" and I did.

Also, more recently, I was riding my horse in Red Dead Redemption during a thunderstorm. A man came up to me and said "Help! They're lynching my friend and he didn't do anything wrong!" so I spurred the shit out of my horse to get to where his friend was being hung. Got there in time to shoot the rope and all the people who were in the lynch mob (while lightning was striking and rain was down-pouring). That was pretty awesome.

God of War 3 didn't disappoint though. The AWESOME factor remained pretty constant.
I started playing it about 10 minutes ago. Awesome is all I can say at the moment.
