The future? Sure. Why not, most of the things I want to see exist only the "The future".

The past? Ha, don't be silly.

"Fuck yeah, I can live as a worthless peasant and maybe survive until I'm 40 before dying a painful death."

Sure. I'm not a huge fan of whatever the future's going to be like (I mean, I already have a particular disregard for the present day, so I doubt the future will agree with me) and I really want to see Pink Floyd live, so I'm going to have to go with the 60s or so for my chosen era. Although I'd have to be born in the 50s in order to be old enough to see them when they first started out.

I wish I was born in the early 60s. Then, I could see the rise of computer games, Apollo 11, Cuban Missile Crisis, IRA bombings (seeing what happened, not taking part, of course), the rise of all my favourite bands and the poll tax/ miners riots

Hell no. This era is FANTASTIC.

We fly on multi-ton vehicles, most of us have cars that can drive over 100 MPH, we cna construct objects so small you can't see them, we fly in space and send objects hurtling to other planets.

Do you realize just how fucking awesome we are?
I feel pumped about being a human now!
OT: I guess I would want to be born more into the future or some fantasy era. I wouldn't want to go to the past though. I like to camp and go out hiking as the next guy but, almost everything before 1950(Thats being generous) is pretty much that. Na, I like my microwave and computers, and my Geo.

Beeing born in a slight future would have been perfect, maybe in 70 or 80 years.

I'd like to live during the Weimar Classicism. The time of great people such as Goethe, Schiller and Herder...aaah.
Then again, today's science is pretty awesome.

I'm pretty good with the moment.

We stand on the cusp of a glorious future! It is we who decide what form that future takes! For centuries, people have imagined what the future would look like, and it falls to us to enact that glorious vision! The internet, portable computing... we've taken our first steps, now it not the time to look back!

Not really.

All the other eras had shitty medicine. Sure, watching the pyramids getting built could be cool. But watching the pyramids get built while dieing of polio would not be.

The future might be worth a shot though, assuming we haven't nuked our collective arses into oblivion. Or overpopulated the place. Or killed all the animals. Or chopped down all the trees. Or drunk all the water.

Yeah.. y'know what? I think I'll stick to this era.

Somewhat although I would rather time travel and to live it out for a brief moment than to being born in that time period.

Assuming I have all of my knowledge now? Maybe.

The fact remains we have some pretty cushy sits here and now. Our underclass has problems with obesity due to the high calorie/high carbohydrate content of their diet. Not too many periods of history get to say that.

To all those saying that our quality of life is better than its ever been; you do realise that the zombie apocalypse is only 3 years away? All this quality of life will be over

Love to have been around for the 60s and 70s for the rockin' music scene and witness the birth of gaming.

Yeah and no. I'd like to live in the days where you could wander anywhere on the earth and settle down wherever you please. See a forest? Everything there can be yours! Just start cutting down trees and build whatever you want to. However, you'll know less about the world so you're more likely to catch a disease or get sick from not knowing what's what. (boil water, thoroughly cook meat, don't eat something that's already dead when you find it, etc).

It was just a lot easier to get sick and die/get killed by wicked people/caught up in a war in previous eras of history...but they were truly free...

Live in the city... die in the city... if you're homeless in the city, your world is dead tar roads and garbage cans... no freedom there.

being born 15 years earlier would be sweet. Being witness of the first years of the scene, the legendary clubs and concerts, the wicket hairstyles, untainted shockvalue....good times those 80s.
Plus can i take my Mp3player and Laptop to become rich as fuck?

500 years ahead sounds peachy. Failing that, ten years ago so I can abuse my knowledge of the future to make a mint would do nicely.
