I don't want to die before I am 70.

I am afraid/curious of what happens after, I am catholic but I just hope god forgives me for my sins.

Death? Not really no. The act that may cause said death? Yeah, thats something I try to avoid. I don't fear death, I fear getting run over by a semi crossing the street causing my death.

Not at all, we all die, we all will die, and it's best not to fight it when the time comes.

No.
I don't fear death, but that doesn't mean that I don't care whether I live or die. I love life, even if it's hard most of the times, even if I say a gazillion time I hate it, even if it hurts so often, it doesn't matter. It's my life, my only life and I love it.

To live means also to die. If we don't die, it wouldn't be "life' but just plain "existing". What makes our lives so precious is how short they are.

I would like to live as long as possible, but I'm not scared of dying. If it's my time, I will accept it "as a man".

What I hate about people and this topic when it comes during conversations is how people always misunderstand me. Accepting death isn't giving up on life. If you accept death, that doesn't mean you stop fighting for your life.

No. Death is something that we must face relatively soon. It's a silly thing to fear something that cannot be conquered.

Its not the dying part I'm afraid of its not knowing what will come afterwards. If I have some kind of conscience after I'm gone whether its a state of eternal dreaming or some kind of afterlife I dont care as long as I am somewhat aware and not just cut off like a light switch. I get sick to my stomach and weak in the head when I think about things like this. That someday I'll be gone. I wont be able to move, see, or feel, that everything I know will be over.

How come I'm the first one to use this?

Text is be snipped.
Alright, someone else was chewing at the bit to post that scene! Woohoo!

Hurray for small pleasures, I guess.

Seriously, though, I'm not so much afraid of death as I'm afraid of fading away in the memories and overall consciousness of my friends and loved ones. I'd like to think I'll have at least achieved a few things in life, before taking a bow.

As for what I factually believe... I honestly don't know. Spiritually, I'm absolutely fucking confused. I've got my long moments of convinced atheism, with occasional shifts towards agnosticism. I just don't think about it, most of the time. What's really put a dent in my atheism is my dog's death. I loved him so much. He's the first person (yes, person), which I've ever seriously grieved for. I'm not saying I'm a Rainbow Bridge subscriber, but I do like to think that somehow, somewhere, someday - I'll get to see Whiskey again. Or, well, that's when my bouts of agnosticism are pretty strong.

Then my mind kicks in and reminds me of how absolutely irrational all of this is. I then grudgingly shift back to atheism and a general disavowal of spiritual or Afterlife-related concepts, seeing as there's 99% chances that all of us will just turn to worm food.

If you actually answer "no" to this question you either:

A: Don't actually have any real concept of death,

B: Are lying,

C: Aren't actually taking the time to think about it or,

D: Are completely insane

Seriously, death is frigging terrifying. Everything that is, disappears. At least from your point of view. Also, a fear of death is genetically hardwired into you no matter what you say. There's no denying your evolutionary programming.

I dont fear death.

But i fear a bad death. Like on the toilet or something. Or getting my arm slowly demeated through a snow plow, and then bleeding to death.

Basically the same as them. To me, being afraid to die makes as much sense as being afraid to sleep. Being afraid of the way you will die is something different and makes a lot of sense.

I'll take option D.

Do you fear death? It's a question that has been asked many times. I myself am more worried about what happens afterwards. The idea of endlessly being in the dark void of nothingness, for all eternity makes me feel unnerved. I know I'll be dead, but still..
I look at it like this: If I don't see it coming and it happened without any time to know that I'd die, it gives me no time to worry.

I do not constantly think about death.

If there is an afterlife, cool beans.

If there isn't, what is there to fear? You would be NOTHING. You would have no fear, there would be no endless void because there would be nothing left of you to float there. You would just be a lifeless husk buried in the ground.

Basically, if you die, it's not like you could care, because you're DEAD.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm not so afraid of death as I am about my presence being snuffed out. I like me, I don't want me to die anytime soon, I still have a lot of stuff I hope to one day do and accomplish.

I've actually had the experience. It feels weird being alive after you die, but while you are dead you don't really know you're dead. It's not as bad as people assume it is because all awareness is gone. I'm a christian, I believe in life after death, but what I experienced was a dark emptiness that would be really hard to describe.

I don't fear being dead, I know that once we die we don't know it. Dying isn't fun though.
