Ima go with sharks, given that humans aren't on the menu. Bears will eat almost anything, and you can't punch a bear in the nose to stop it if it's trying to take a chunk out of you. Rather have a pitifully small chance than no chance at all :)

Lol. Freak chance is better than no chance, I say.

Sharks obviously, cause they're like not dangerous outside of the water, so they pose little if no trhead to me.

Unless ofc we're talking bout lazer-sharks, but that would prolly make the bears something liek bear cavalry...

I vote for beer, as a third option, i feel safe around beer.

Well, I run a lot better than I swim, so provided the bear and shark in question is out to get me, I guess I'd prefer to be on land. Then again, I probably couldn't out-run a bear, but I definitely couldn't out-swim a shark. Either way I'm fucked, but I'll take the bear.

Now if Megalodon still existed, Nobody would dare swim in the ocean at all. Normal sharks teeth are about an inch long. Megalodon had 6.5 inch teeth. They estimate his length to be up to 67 feet.

I'd prefer bears, because if they run after you, aim for a place going downhill, since the bears have so short and big feet (?), they'll stumble and fall, and then you can run as hell and actually get away.

Remember, you cannot outrun a bear. Apparently, they can reach 35 mph, despite their size. How fast does a human run?

But bears , I can relate to. They're just out to protect their children, food and personal space. Who wouldn't!

I'm not getting anywhere near a shark though.

A bear.
Unless you steal its food, get near bear cubs or basically piss it off in any way, it won't try to kill you.
It may help that one of the nicknames I've been dubbed is "bear".I look out for my own.

Also,if a bear attacks you,you can defend yourself using a big fucking gun.
Unfortunatly, those don't work underwater, where sharks live.So you can only use knives, harpoon guns and other unefficient means of self-defence,but those won't cut it and will probably make the shark angry.

Sharks. I just have to get out of the water to flee from a shark. As opposed to a bear wherein I'd be screwed if it took a liking to my "flavor".
What do you mean "just"? When you spot a shark underwater, it has observed you for many minutes already. If it then decides to attack (which is the scenario), there is absolutely no way you can make it out of the water in time except if you are diving with a strained bungee cord attached to your body at all times.

And about being a good/bad swimmer/runner: It does not matter whatsoever. A bear is so much faster than you, no matter how good an athlete you are and no matter what the terrain. And a shark is many times faster than you can ever hope to swim. In both cases, moving as fast as you can is a very bad idea that will propably get you killed.
In that case I'll bring a "friend". That way I don't need to outrun the bear and there's a 50/50 chance the shark will be preoccupied.

I'd feel safer around both, because in the forest i'd have my trusty 30.06 Gewehr 43 or my M1 rifle, in the water a very strong harpoon gun attached to explosives

Gimmie a bear over a shark any day or holiday of the week. Both aren't likely to attack, but it's easier to outrun a bear than out swim a shark.

there is no fucking way i can swim at 30mph. At least i can 'TRY' to outrun a bear, trying is futile with a shark...so my answer is BEARS!!! RAWR!

Bear...

Sharks can attack me from any possible angle in an environment I can barely move at 10% of their speed...

Bears are effing dangerous but I have a better idea where a bear is attacking me from, not to mention I still have a chance (Slim one) to escape

You would think that, but can you outrun a horse?
A lot of bears can run that fast. So you're screwed no matter which you choose.

Sharks are more likely to bite you and spit you out.
Bears are more likely to tear you apart and eat you.
Never said I could outrun a bear, just that the odds say it's more likely then to outswim a shark
