Do you find it attractive when girls do that "pouty", unnatural lip thing in photos?

I think they make that face so boys will avoid them. It is working for me even though I prefer staying single.

So no, I do not find this attractive at all. Looks more like they are trying to become jesters.

It's a popular way to hide your looks and accentuate things you're happy with.

For more examples, I found this video rather educational:

Why not to trust profile pics!

Nice try, but no, there is no explaining it. It looks just plain stupid, simple as that.

um, no. it looks weird. why can't girls just be normal in photos? i'd prefer to see a picture of how a person actually looks-that's the point of pictures. why do we, as a species, lose our minds in front of a camera?

Meh, I know tons of girls who do this, and I do it myself when I feel the need to take the piss out of the "Gangstar" or "Nexuz" stereotypes, that the danish youth seem to love so dearly.

"Gangstar" being shaving your head, wearing a 'cap', and some very very colourful (often black and gold, but sometimes with brigther colours as well), oversized sweatpants, along with a giant jumper made of the same material. Also very colourful.

"Nexuz" is the unisex one where both boys and girls wear these god-awful jeans that are tight at the ankles and extremely baggy everywhere else. The girls wear whatever slutty tops they have while the boys prefer cardigans. The boys do their hair as close to dragonball style as they can, and put on shitloads of foundation, tan-cream, and lipgloss, and so do the girls. (But the girls dont do the dragonball thing :p, they just straighten and bleach the shit out of it.)

I've gone quite a bit off-topic I see. Anyways I hate these people, and I do the duckface to imitate them.

Not attractive, but a clear sign of "STAY AWAY FROM ME"!

Though the reason why most do it is probably because it's sort of a meme I guess. Like the 'V' fingers every guy used to do on every picture a few years back, even if they didn't even know what it ment. (It means 'Fuck you' in Britain)
Really, because the middle finger is what that's for. The V for lots of people has always been "jog on" or something of a similar nature.
The "V" as fuck you as opposed to the middle finger is a much older version, but they stem from the same thing.

I dislike duckfaces, but a properly pouty woman can be quite devastating.

The whole "taking photos of yourself and posting them" phenomena that has struck this generation eludes me, but I guess we all have to have our ego outlets.

As for the pouting expression: I don't get it.

First of all the girl in the example are doing horrible ducklips :p

Well I do not find it attractive when girls do it, on the other hand attractive girls do it :p

I think it is something that started happening because people try and imitate the "attitude" that some models are expressing in photos. But when you have no idea what the attitude is you end up with a horrible looking face :p
It might also hide the fact that the girl has thin lips and she wants them to look bigger

It is also probably a way to try and become photogenic, although ha much better way to achieve this is to slightly part your lips.

I hate this and the normal-pout, where they pucker their lips or just plain-ol' scowl

Stupid Victoria Beckham and her associates...

I think it looks kind of retarded.

The following doesn't really apply to the picture above.. but sometimes it's like this, although it seems to be going out of fashion now.

"Look how attractive I am trying to look like a fish or a bad parody of one of those models with slightly parted lips. I'll look even more attractive if I wear foundation to cover my imperfect skin. High contrast, brightness, and resizing will cover the fact I cake on foundation to cover my imperfect skin, while lots of eyeliner will make my eyes not almost disappear like my nose almost will once I finish with photoshop." kind of thing.

What are some things girls do to try to be more attractive that just annoy you, or you actually find attractive? Makeup? Internet disease photos?

UGH. I'm gonna need some time to un-see that picture you showed us, Ambi.

By the way, pouting in photos? Kinda pathetic.

I don't get it.
It looks absolutely retarded.
Why do people do this to themselves?
Is it some kind of running joke?

Great video, but you might feel the need to edit your post.

On topic; I have no idea where this comes from, it seems to be a self-perpetuating joke amoungst my friends though.

I think because it makes your face look better: more pronounced jawline and cheekbones (at least that's what I've noticed).

It means Piss Off in Britain, Middle Finger still means Fuck You

and in most countries the V is for Peace
