Do you get upset if Yahtzee trashes a game you like?

I like Yahtzee (and MovieBob, for that matter) much BETTER when I disagree with them. Having someone just sit and concur with you isn't productive in any way. It's also boring.

no, not ever and on a side note, some of the people commenting seem to have very strange definitions of 'trash-talking'

Sometimes if he makes an ignorant statement, then yes. Otherwise I don't care too much. It's his opinion, and that won't stop me from enjoying games I like.

A few gripes I take issue with, or if they were things I didn't find to be flaws. A lot of what he says I have to admit are true. Good example of that would be the walking around mechanics in Red Dead Redemption. Had to admit that those were pretty flawed, even if they were manageable.

Though it's pretty hard for anyone to make me dislike a game I'm already thoroughly enjoying.

The only thing that bothers me is the people who take his reviews as consumer advice. They are entertainment, and good entertainment, but I'd never go to him to see if I wanted to buy a game or not.

No, I don't get insulted. I don't come to Yahtzee for confirmation my own opinions. What I do come to him for is intelligent insight into the games he comments on and good entertainment. He provides both quite well. Just because I like JRPGs and Strategy games does not mean that I should be insulted when he doesn't have much fun playing them or call him a liar when points out the flaws with those genres.

Nope. He's a prick who is paid to complain about things. It is impossible for me to care any less about what he says.

No, to me, it's a bit reluctant to be upset over someone else's opinion of a game, even one I like.

Especially, if that person is Yahtzee. See, I view his video for both an entertaining p.o.v. and to listen to another's opinion on a game that I wouldn't of considered before.

It's the old ?discovering new and interesting perspectives? about something. Which in the end, you're looking to gain a different understanding or more depth to a subject you're interesting in.

Nope, I usually just

along with all the haters.

I don't watch Yatzhee for his opinions, I watch his "reviews" for their humor. Often the games' problems are far, far too exaggerated to be an accurate review.
I just finished watching Pricilla, Queen of the Desert, so I just imagined Hugo Weaving dressed like this:

"Mr. Anderson, why you are looking FAH-BU-LOUS!"

OT: I don't think I could give less of a toss about what Yahtzee thinks of a game. I watch him because he's funny, not because he's right.

the vast vast majority of the games he's reviewed I've never seen,
but hypothetically, if he gave a standard review to a game I had / liked, then while I might mentally agree or disagree with him, I probably wouldn't express any emotion in regards to it.
(except humor perhaps)

well...do ya?

while I definetly pay attention if yahtzee actually likes somthing...no not really

this reminds me of the witcher reveiw...I mean was it me or some people were actually unhappy yahtzee didnt like it? I mean it seems like a no-brainer since he doesnt like the first one

and what doesnt it matter anyway? I mean nagativity is pretty much his "thing"

I do however avoid his reveiws on a game that I am going to get or have yet to finish, because I dont want me veiw tainted...plus he gives away plot details alot
I mostly get upset if he does an absolutely sub par job at reviewing. Again. It annoys me when he goes with the most obvious jokes/etc simply because he hasn't played the game in depth. Or at all.

Yahtzee points out flaws in every game he plays, but (as he once said) his reviews are timed to come out a solid amount of time after the game has been released so by then his review has just become commentary about already well-known problems in the game.

I don't get mad when Yahtzee doesn't agree with my opinion of a game, because it was his opinion he posted. Everything is opinion because everything that is said or written is said or written by a person with an opinion.

Of course not. While his reviews do have some truth to them as to whether a game is good or not, they are mainly meant to be funny.

Not about any one game, no. But it does bother me when he goes on those tiresome tirades about how multiplayer isn't as important as single player.

I don't really have a problem with him trashing a game I like, but his "reviews" did fall in quality over time. He elevates minor complaints to size of mountains and, even worse, sets his preferences as standard for whole world.

In the beginning, before he became such a celebrity, he practiced some caution in his rants, and shows were better for it. Nowadays many of his rants are just crying "I don't like this, how they dare make a game I don't wanna sleep with to the end of eternity"

I disagree. I don't think his reviews are crying. I think he is expressing the flaws of games. It isn't like his reviews are going to effect whether or not you play a game.
