No, not really, I watch his reviews for entertainment, he makes wise cracks on the zelda series which I really enjoy but, hes also right about what he says, no point at getting angry over facts or opinions.

Nope. It's kind of like Game Informer's annual Sacred Cow Barbeque. If we can't laugh at and acknowledge the flaws little oddities in our most popular or anticipated games, we don't deserve to call them art. (I'm so glad I get to say that now.)

Would I use Yahtzee's reviews to make informed purchasing choices? Heck no! He is funny to listen to nonetheless.

Nope.
Monster Hunter is one of my favorite series ever. He didnt just bash MH: Tri, he stabbed it with a rusty claymore, pissed in the wounds and then dropped its body in a bathtub of napalm.

The entire time i couldnt stop laughing though. Not to bash him or anything, but hes kinda the gamer equivalent of Fox News.

Ok, thats a bit mean of me, but its kinda true. Hes a bit of a sensationalist. If something is bad, its one of the worst things ever created. And if something is good, its usually "Meh" or "I enjoyed it, but it could be better".

I love Yahtzee. Hes one of my favorite "reviewers". And i dont have to see eye to eye with him on every topic to think hes awesome.

If he says something i dont like, ((Such as saying Monster Hunter Tri has "All the worst parts of an MMORPG")) I just drop it. Not worth getting pissed over x:

no. why should his opinion disrupt my enjoying certain game?

that being said, I think MGS4 is a hell of a game.

EDIT: I like the guy for his honesty. He's not being an asshole for sake of being an asshole. He's just strict. and its something this industry needs. I don't use ZP as a guideline for purchasing things, unless he explicitly states that it is a horrible game. If he's being somewhat ambiguous on his overall opinion of a game, I take it as the game actually has some redeeming quality to it.

nope, it's all good humour. I don't really care if anyone trashes a game I like though.

Only when he trashes it unfairly for the wrong reasons. You'd have to be an idiot to take everything Yahtzee says seriously, but sometimes he's just...wrong.
Eg.
His FFXIII review (inb4 programmed final fantasy 13 hate) was just poor. He knew he was going to hate it and he didn't have to like it, but only playing 4 hours of a 100+ hour game is pretty pathetic, especially seeing as it's actually his job to review these games.

I felt similar after his Bioshock 2 review, it didn't deserve that level of hate. I was disappointed when he was pointing out 'plot holes' that were actually explained if you bothered to listen to the audio-tapes.

Not really, actually Yahtzee's Borderlands review always puts me in the mood to play even though it's a negative review.

I don't, because his taste in games is very similar to mine, and thus i share similar feelings, and all the points he makes are valid. AC2 is one of my favourite games, and everything he said about it was true. it was a good game which was a little easy with lots of unnecessary shit in it, although its avoidable.

There's something people who hate need to remember, in one of his reviews he said "anything I don't point out you can take to be good" or something along those lines.

Meh - he's just being Yahtzee. I value his opinion as a generally reliable and unbiased one, but I also accept that the things that bother/piss him off won't necessarily get to me. so maybe he criticizes a game for some element of the story, but I don't really play the game for the story, you know? I don't see any reason to get upset or anything.

I like his reviews and he always does make good points but I don't base my purchase of a game off just Yahtzee's criticisms.

No. Why would I?

He gives his opinion on games and sometimes gives valid points. Other times I think hes full of it. I dont need someone to enjoy my own individual interests as long as Im having fun.

Not really. Fact is, he's still hilarious. Some people just take him too seriously, even though he's said himself that he isn't by any means The One Voice here.

Only once because of his failure to play monster hunter tri right but I did think it was a terrible idea to put it on the wii anyway and thus I knew it was a terrible game.

I think there's only been one time when he's reviewed an absolute all-time favourite game of mine, and that was The World Ends With You.

And he didn't really trash it.

So I can't say the situation described in the OP has ever really come up.

Although even if he does trash one of my favourite games in the future, I can easily forgive his misinformed, wrong, silly and ignorant* opinion simply because he's so darned entertaining.

(*Massive sarcasm quotes, just in case someone doesn't understand the joke.)

What he says is often exaggurated for the purpose of the show... and though I often agree with him I still take it all with a grain of salt.

Upset? Naw. I just shake my head and say "he's wrong" and continue to play the game he hates so much.

No it doesn't mainly since I love his reviews. They tend to be even funnier if I've played the game like eve online.

I'm a JRPG fan. If I got upset whenever he criticized JRPGs, I'd probably never watch Zero Punctuation.

Really, I don't take what he says as stone-serious criticism. He's amazingly funny, fun to watch, and has great points, but what he says is so comically exaggerated that I don't take his "trashing" seriously at all.
