No, If it is truly a game you like you'll be able to except its criticism. Hey I stilled played Medal of Honor Airborne for several years even after his criticism.

I would say for the record that i dislike most of yahtzee's favourite games (Dizzy the frikken egg, and Spiderman 2? you got to be shitting me!).
to be fair he said Dizzy isn't his favorite game in the XBLA double bill and only said spiderman 2 "excelled all expectation by being slightly good" for having one good feature.
Nope, he had a top five list in one of his vids (forgot which one) which listed Spiderman 2, Prince of Persia Sands of time, Portal, Dizzy, and Silent hill 2 as his favourites.
I remember what your talking about and thought that game was killer 7 not spiderman 2
Nah, i swear it's Spiderman 2. I normally have a rather good memory of these things.

I do however avoid his reveiws on a game that I am going to get or have yet to finish, because I dont want me veiw tainted...plus he gives away plot details alot
He does give away plot a lot! What a jerk!
He does give away plot a lot, but his videos usually come out a week or two after the game's release when a significant portion of people who will ever play the game already have.
That is such a ridiculously incorrect statement! Ever heard of the used game market? It seems to be doing pretty well. I usually wait til a game's price sinks to $30 or so before I buy it and that's ages after Yahtzee spoils important plot details.
I didn't say most, I said significant, as in a whole lot.

I buy almost all my games used as well, but if people didn't buy them new in the first place there would be nothing on the used game market. All used games were new first.

He's reviewed quite a few of my more beloved games, but he's usually right with his criticism, so i can't really complain.

Not at all. The only game he dissed that I love was the Zelda series, but I can understand his points but they're not important points to me.
Apart from that I don't play the kinds of games he reviews, and the ones he likes (e.g. Psyconauts and PoP) are some some of my favourite games.

It's just his opinion. His opinion holds no more weight than mine, and frankly, Yahtzee is better at simply stating facts about games than most other reviewers, so if I'm unsure whether or not to buy a game, I like to see what he had to say about it.

Yes, I do. Because it seems his standards are ridiculously high, only being met by a handful; he hates anything that isn't perfect, and any time he reviews a game that happens to be on the Wii, he has to shit all over the system because apparently it's the Wii's fault the game sucks, and not the game itself. And even if it is pretty good, he still has to treat the Wii as trash. I've gotten a lot better games out of the Wii than I have with other consoles this generation (except maybe the DS). What's worse is that sometimes, I can't tell whether to take his rants and rambles seriously, or if they are just gross exaggerations of how he really feels. Either way, he's far too venomous for my tastes.

No, I do not. This is generally because I would concede that the issues he points out actually exist and that I am simply better suited to dealing with them than Yahtzee. In much the same way that, when he gushes about a game I hated (Silent Hill 2), I do not bear him any ill will or think his opinion is somehow incorrect.

He rags on every game so when he rags on one I like it's really not offensive. Hell if that wasn't his thing I still wouldn't be because his opinion doesn't affect mine. I just love to watch his videos because they reek of awesome :p

well it is his job to find problems with the game no matter how unsignificant and small they are, if yahtzee finds them, well, let the trolling begin

I kind of got ticked at his review on Devil May Cry 4, but that was so little anger it wasn't really worth mentioning.

So no, he dosen't make me mad.

No. In fact I usually like it when he reviews games I like, because it gives me more to relate to. The jibes are funnier when I've experienced the same problems.

The only exception was the Oblivion review. Not because I thought he was wrong (except about the landscape variety), but, rather, because he didn't address what I saw to be the true problems in the game. He complained about the Uncanny Valley in dialogue, but ignored the horrible horse mechanics, wonky difficulty curve, and ridiculous enemy scaling.

In hindsight, I decided the problem was that he just ran through the main quest, without straying far enough from the beaten path. Acceptable, given the length of time reviewers have to actually play the games they're expected to review, but it does bring up some legitimate questions about how long a reviewer should play games like TES before reviewing.

Sorry, tangent there.

A good example of liking when he rips a game I like is Splinter Cell: Conviction. Love the game, and love Yahtzee's review. One of his best, imo.

Not so far, and I doubt that I ever will because I believe he's not so petty as to slam a game for no reason other than it was more popular than something else he liked.

Even then it wouldn't be the kind of upset where people say, "RAAAAAAAAAGGGGGEEEEE! I'm never watching Zero Punctuation again because he made fun of Billybob's Bass Fishing and it's the best game ever!", then next week they're commenting his next video.

Not in the slightest.

1. He is more humor than serious critique, (he makes excellent points about most games, but I just watch him more for laughs than actual commentary)

2. He never actually reviews the majority of games I like because of his overwhelming antipathy to Strategy games of any stripe, style or platform.

No, unless he's complaining about something that I never had a problem with/never encountered despite playing at least a hundred hours of that game. Then I just wonder wtf happened with his game and move on.

Nope. In fact, I get really excited when I see him reviewing a game I've played because it means I'll get to enjoy all the jokes even more.
