I guess I'm just a bit more open and not as reserved as I am in RealLife©. It's not really intentional, since I used to just as open, but every since I moved to Lebanon, I tend to keep to myself.

I suppose I do, as far as personality goes I act the same except I make the effort to talk to people online more than I do in real life.

Well, to be honest, Im have a personality disorder, have had it the last few years. Im not the only one, of course, lots of people have this problem. Sometimes it's bad, sometimes it's better. My point being Im not sure who I am in real life, a lot of the time, so I cant really compare. But I think I usually try to be pretty cheerful and make people laugh. My humour is a lot different online, though.

But I enjoy creating characters when on the net, so to speak, as do many others. And I try to be funny. I try.

Yes. Although I have like six different personalities on and offline all rolled into one. For example I am actually myself on teh interwebs while in real life I try to make everyone hate me for some reason. Also on teh interwebs people don't judge for who I really am. In real life they do.

I'm generally much quieter and wittier on the internet than I am in real life. In real life I tend to be louder and make lots of frankly very stupid jokes. I guess I'm just more patient online than I usually am due to the fact that people may not ever even see what I type, so I don't expect some sort of response from them, and also due to me not knowing who I am talking to I tend to be less open because they could be lying about ever single thing they have said.

I usually trust people online.
I base this trust on the fact that I'm too lazy to lie, so must other people. Not always true, of course, but it puts my mind at rest.

Not just an internet nickname, but a whole separate personality for online?
It's actually a really interesting psychological aspect, that humans create separate identities for different occ-
It depends on how you define "separate". I've always held that the general idea of the Hindenburg Uncertainty Principle applies to the internet, as simply being observed in the medium will always change your actions, at least a little bit.

Only in the sense that I can see what I am saying and can put more thought into it without loads and loads of awkward pauses. The actual person behind the words 100% the same.

I have an internet persona, of a sort. Mostly though the difference is cosmetic. Personality wise the only thing that changes when online is that I'm a lot more open

I tend to be a bit more sexist and racist on the internet, because it is easier to make out that it's a joke through the use of emoticons /k\

I have this one (Most shadowsole's on the net are me) that is my normal self but I have twop other personas for difrent things.

They also match with my role paying chareters. ie shadowsole is a mage and a rouge
one is just a rouge and the other is more of a spell blade.

Pretty much the same on and offline.

But if you do want to witness people with an identity crisis i recommend you go to /b/. :p
Good god, no. You can't go there and leave with your virginity.
Plus, Rule 34 is traumatizing for gamers.

Online games I seem to develop a competitive/irratable persona, but I slip in and out of it depending if I have my mates to talk to online, or just random 12 kids screaming down my lughole on Halo.
