Yup always, just put my hand on my keyboard to test this and at rest my hand is at AWD with pinky on shift/ctrl and thumb on space bar. Left hand is placed at "fuck if I know"

Yes... rather severely, to the point where I type so dominantly with my right hand that my left hand usually only types QWE, ASD, and ZXC. All thanks to those years playing Guild Wars.

I think it might be a good idea to reboot and relearn to type with the Dvorak format. My WPM went from 120 to 60 because of this cursed affliction.

It's called "repetitive stress injury".

I don't play so much that I get it, though I did get carpal tunnel for 2 days at one point in 2007 or 8 due to really overzealous mouse-clicking.

Yep, WAD and my pink on shift, with my thumb on spacebar. My right hand sits on the correct keys though, with J on my thumb.

Only when I play games when I am on the internet they usually fall into the typing position.

Seriously, they're fucking superior.
That looks nice but for wrist pain although the other user said it I have a mouse pad than has a wrist rest. As I asummed that was the problem....

Oh, so this is an actual condition... ever since I installed Oblivion on my laptop, Every game since than used the WASD. Now, when I just st my hands down on my keyboard, they instinctivly go to the WASD buttons. Damn, if that aint wierd...

What I want to know is if there is a cure for Mouse pads? and no, not from just porn...
What was the problem with mouse pads?

Okay, this mouse doesn't exactly beat your's in gaming and is more geared towards 3D designers, but seriously, just fucking look at this!

No, my fingers always go to the home row position. They assume a "Gamer's Claw" when I'm playing games on my PC, but at all other times, they're in home row.

Yeah, I've always been doing that since I was ten, back when I played CS 1.6. My school forced all the kids in my 4th grade to take a typing class, and they had this INSANE thing called... Home Keys...? asdf and hjkl, and I'm like WTH IS THIS. So whenever the teacher turned around I went back to using wasd. Its so much more comfortable having my left hand over w a and d, with pinky between shift and control, with my thumb on space. my right hand just does whatever as it is naturally on the mouse.

My hand naturally rests -

Pinky = Shift
then - AWD
Thumb = Space

No matter what I am doing that is my home position for my left hand.

Captcha = borphars johnson Really? WTF

I seriously never get that. When I play games I play for hours on end, but I never get any sort of 'gamer's claw' whether I'm playing on console or on PC. Huh...

Nope. Always used the arrow keys, so I assume they're close enough to where my hands land for typing that it's not changed.

Though my pinky aches like a ***** from being curled around the mouse for hours. But only if I'm playing certain games, like Half Life 2.

nope, I learned touch typing in high school and it stuck with me, so the majority of time my hands rest on the home keys for typing. ASDF JKL; - only time I have my hands otherwise is in games. and it depends on the game. most RPG's including MMO's i tend to rest with my pinky on TAB and my fingers on 1,2,3 to use skills/spells. otherwise it'll be WASD

Oh yeah, default position for many a PC gamer, myself included (even when I'm playing Empire/Napoleon Total War... WTFF)

But no, never really gotten 'gamer claw', can always type fine after a session, except on cold days...

And... nuisance jobitere?!?!

No. I self-taught typing way back before I ever started using WASD.
Actually, I stuck with the arrow keys until around 2005. Why? Easy access to numpad.
