I do hug my friends but I never initiate the hug. My lady friends always seem to be giving out the hugs although one of my guy friends is also a fan of giving them out (especially if he's ill)

I can't see how people survive without hugs..
My friend hates them, mostly due to his extreme fear of gays. For his birthday someone groped him, was awesome.

I'll take any hugs going though, I hug my friends when I can. Although if i don't know them I am more likely to accept a hug from a girl i suppose

I hug my friends who are girls (i'm a guy) but if I have not seen my guy friends in a while I will of course greet them with a hug i'm not gay and I feel that people who call others gay because of it can go drown in a well

I personally am fine with hugging my guy friends (I obviously hug my firends that are girls) but being 13 in a middle class independent school in Surrey means that most of my friends would brand me a "gay" if I hugged them something which I really don't need right before I'm choosing my GSCE's

I hug pretty much all my friends who are girls and two of my friends who are guys. one has been my friend since we were small, and the other just does it to be funny.

Well, I usually keep my hands to myself, but occasionally I greet friends I haven´t seen in a long time with a jovial (yet very manly) hug. Granted, hugging can be really soothing, but still it´s not part of my everyday life. Besides, I may not be very huggable, since my physique resembles a flagpole.

People of both genders hug me a lot. I keep telling them I'll cut their throats but it only seems to make them more enthusiastic oh well.
This! Now I don't need to post yay.

Except to say that USUALY I don't say I'll cut their throats, I just whine about how I'm freaked out by physical contact. I must start using threats of violence more often.

I am hugged by my friends every once in a while, not really creeped out by it, just find it incredibly weird, especially since I'm usually the stereotypical nerdy white guy

I hug all my close friends, regardless of whether they are gay or not. I had a couple of lesbian/bisexual friends that had crushes on me, but I never alienated them for it. My brother hugs all his mates too to show his affection, granted I don't think his has any very cloes gay friends.

We don't hug. But we always kissed our friends (the girls) on the cheek. It's becoming normal for guys to a kiss on the cheek. Weird thing is that the 'nerd' people don't do that. But the guy's who get all the chicks and party alot do do that.

No, no I do not. I don't respond well to physical contact. I don't trust people enough for that.

I tend to hug all my friends, though im much more likely to hug girls, simply because its more accepted, I don't have much guy love with my mates :p

Yeah, I'm comfortable with that. The girls arn't though, so I stopped. They never respond well to bear hugs, but the occasional guy hug is well recieved and never thought of as weird.

If I'm giving a friend a quick hug, and someone says something like "Eww, why do you guys hug each other?", I simply reach for the same friend, hug him again, but this time, I squeeze his ass, and as I look over his shoulder at the person who asked the question, I say, "Oh honey, this is just the stuff we do in public."

In seriousness, there's no problem with men giving each other hugs, provided they are quick macho hugs, and aren't done too often, in my opinion.
