There's no shame in hugging a mate you haven't seen for a while. Now I've got a few really good friends in France (I never knew what a lot of people here have against the French), and though it's a bit awkward and unusual (at least the first time), we give two kisses on the cheek when we see each other (which is every year or so), and a hug of course. Now this may, no.. this appears outright gay to everybody witnessing it, but it's their custom, and who am I to waylay somebody's culture. Plus I love them in a non-homosexual way, so who cares anyway. I know I'm straight, fluck everybody who thinks different.
