If I know them in real life? They already know. If I don't? Then I'm just going to go ahead and assume that they're a greasy pedophile. Even you. Especially you.

Depends on their trustworthiness, as do most things. You'd have to be borderline stupid to put your full name, address, age and a pic up on the internet these days for just anyone to see.

I'll give my age, town, county and country, general description of self and my opinions on things.
I don't see why you need my name, or how having it would benefit you.
You can use the rest to try and build a mental picture of me and thats about as precise as the details you need are.

As information about myself goes... I probably give out more then I should, but I won't give out stuff about friends or family, just myself. I have quite an indepth facebook... but its set so that unless i tick lots of boxes when accepting yuo as a friend, you won't see anything at all.

I've given out my address before, but only to people who I've known for over a year or so, and have talked to.

I give out my True Name (which is safely generic), city and nation (given that there's a half-dozen with the same name even in my smallish city), and generalities of age; the birth year might be right, but the day and month will be essentially random. Not much beyond that, well, except career which might narrow things down but not enough (I hope) to lead to ID theft.

Is that a come on? If so, call me. Rawr.

Seriously, when I get comfortable, I instantly become about as sociable as they come. My identity is about as anonymous as a Driver's License. Given that I have my e-mail address on my profile (MSN account), then you could pretty easily figure out my name, location, college, high school, likes, dislikes, political beliefs, religious beliefs, what I look like, who I've dated, and how many licks it takes for me to get to the center of a Tootsie-Pop.

In all honesty, I'm not all that worried. I'm over eighteen, and therefore have this miraculous ability called "Common Sense" and "The Ability to Run Away Screaming." Also, a cell phone, some training in Martial Arts, and the knowledge of various phone numbers, including the police.

I'm not terribly worried about people finding out my personal information. So, I suppose, in a way, I do leave my back-door unlocked. (At least, until I go to bed, then you guys are screwed, I lock that when I go to sleep.)

I have a Facebook, but with no "vital" information - ie, it has my name and age and interests, but not my address or inside leg measurement.

On a slightly more literal response to the thread title, yes, but when we accidentally left the key in the lock, some burglars pushed it out, reached through the cat door to grab it, unlocked the door and stole our stuff!

I have no problems letting people online know who I am. My name is Chris, I'm 29 and live in Northwest Missouri (US) outside of a town (Grayson) so small that it literally doesn't have a population sign. If somebody tries to find me, more power to them, the house I live in isn't even on googlemaps. If you want my ssn you can have that too (you won't get much with it). If a greasy pedophile contacts me online then it's probably a coworker. If somebody really wants your info for nefarious purposes then they will get it.

PS I also leave the backdoor to my house unlocked as well as every other door and window. Just be aware that I'm a big fan of the recently passed "texas trespass law" we recently passed here in missouri.

Chris, given that you're 29, the odds of a pedophile (greasy or not) getting in touch with you isn't too likely.

As long as I trust someone on the internet to some degree, I'll tell them about myself, and I don't lie, if the Escapicon actually happens, you'll know what I say is true
I'm a thirteen year old with blond hair who is a little chubby but not really fat. Ilive in Boulder, Colorado and go to Summit Middle School, so there you go

I'm probably a bit too open for my own good, but it takes just a little snooping through my previous posts to find out that I'm a college student in Texas. Good luck finding me, though, because Texas is a very, very large state. And I'd hazard a guess and say I'm not the only 19-year-old college female here...

Do your worst, pedophiles! I'm outta your age bracket anyway!

(note: pedophilia is not a joke and I am a horrible person.)

Step up, step up folks, for this, the deal of a lifetime! All of PurpleRain's secrets at one low, low price! All those burning questions will be answered! (Did you know his middle name is Florence?)

Joking aside, I have a very poorly formed concept of privacy on the internets. I grew up being brainwashed with the idea of everyone on the internet being an evil pedophile who will hunt me down and harvest my organs (okay, maybe not all joking aside) so I'd been a bit antsy, as I knew I should have utmost caution, but I'm also incredibly lazy. A while ago someone (rather easily) found some information about me that I hadn't offered, and I freaked out a little. But then I thought about it logically, and really, I walk alone through alleys at night in the Downtown Eastside, it seems odd that I'm suddenly careful when it comes to the internet. At this point in time, I'm still reserved but I know I don't really have any reason to be. I guess I just like to have control over how people can see me.

It's actually surprisingly easy for a savvy person to find out your *real* information online, so I don't worry about giving out my name and location. Someone who was actually hostile could find out very quickly.

I'm also never tempted to lie about who/what I am. What's the point?

Yeah I'll tell you anything for a shiny nickel.

If you have the determination to use my information to come find me in real life and kill me, then you deserve to spill my blood.

I mean, my full address and name is on my Facebook. What's there to be scared about?

I know a girl who had someone they talked to online randomly show up outside her work waiting by her car for her shift to finish.

Bad shit does happen, but it's not particularly likely
