Where do i start :D

I love black ops and world at war, the most bashed on call of duty games. World at war was really the pinnacle of world war 2 games, and if you stripped your server of juggernaut and played on core, the fun was insane (iron sight sniping, anyone?)

Pokemon is really really fun! It's cute, simple, entertaining, gets some new feature every generation, and offers a surprising amount of complexity. With only 6 times four attacks, you need to maximise your damage and support output well.

I also enjoy some of the D-list mmorpgs (dragonica, flyff, free korean games) because they are often fun and free.

Majora mask and wind waker aren't universally hated... but I still they think i'm alone on truly loving them as da bests :D

How are those games hated? They are both Critically and commercialy successful.
OP: Two Worlds
Yes, but if you do a little internet searching or even just this thread, you find people who despise the series with a burning passion and which they can kill everyone involved with it.(maybe that last line was a bit of an exaggeration but you get the point.)

Final Fantasy 8: my favourite in the series. I'm such a girly wuss at times.

The ENTIRE Koei/Dynasty Warriors back catalogue: I have pretty much every game they have made(including Xtreme Legends and Tactics spinoffs). My brain is aware that they're basically reselling the same game each time with different character skins and a slightly modified game engine but I DO so love racking up over 1000 dead Yellow Turbans, turning Lu Bu into pulp and stealing his horse. Ken's Rage made me a happy, happy lady indeed.

Tomb Raider: Chronicles: LOVE.

The World Ends With You: Now this one did well from critics ratings, but everyone I know IRL who has played it has shouted me down and given a pile of abuse because I think it's a great little game. I'll stick by my guns; it's fantastic.
He-hey, another Final Fantasy VIII fan! Yay! Also, The World Ends with You is pretty great, though, being the Squall-type guy I like to se myself as, I couldn't get in to the whole "fashion as armor" thing, and that game always makes you feel like you suck at it, even when you're getting A's on every battle.

I've stopped bitching about it, but besides Modern Warfare 1 with it's unique storytelling (not plot, storytelling), and Halo introducing the 2-gun limit that worked so well at the time, I've always felt those series to really be void of much creativity or thought.

I'm pretty sure MW2 was the most hated of the series, and I've only met one person who disliked Pokemon.

None that I can think of (unless you count mainstream titles that people hate on). However, I am a big fan of "I-Ninja," which got lukewarm reviews and not many people played. Great game...

3D Sonic games

I must admit that most of them did fall short of expectations set by the series, but that doesn't mean they weren't somewhat entertaining at the very least.

Sonic unleashed was a great stab at a 3d sonic game, and you can see alot of effort was made trying to put the game together (hell they even made a new engine just for the game), but the fans still bitched and moaned about the game, and forgot about what they did deliver, some very challenging, high speed, and great looking levels, which perfectly captured the essence of what the classic sonic gameplay was about.

Resident Evil 5, Wet, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness. Those games were considered either disappointments or utter shit. Personally I liked them, so Game Informer, G4 and every other critic can suck it.

Fable, play it without being anything, without raising a single stat, and as a archer. Then it's kinda fun.

The Dynasty Warriors series and the Ninety-Nine Nights games.

What can i say? I'm a sucker for the hack-and-slashy-button-mashy. It's pure mindless fun, i like to slay legions of baddies. It might be shallow, but i don't care. I like to feel powerful.
amen to that. Dynasty warriors online got me playing those all over again.

I liked Endwar, though at the beginning it was slow paced.

Final Fantasy 12 and 13. Both games have been shot down by a lot of gamers, and they are my favorite Final Fantasy releases behind 5 and 6.

I doubt you'd call this widely hated, but I absolutely love Zelda: Wind Waker

the new tomb raiders. i.e. legend, anniversary, and underworld. ill freely admit underworld was the worst of the bunch, but anniversary ranks up there as one of my favorite games of all time, and from what i hear, most people dont think tomb raider has had a good game since the first one.

im here to tell you guys that if you enjoyed the prince of persia:sot trilogy, then you will love the crystal dynamics tomb raiders. go play them. they are a slice of awesome.

although, if you dont like puzzle platformers, then you might find yourself hating them.

Final Fantasy 13. People hate on it way too much; it was one of my favorite Final Fantasy's really...
It's actually my first JRPG (unless you count Valkyria Chronicles)
Um...why wouldn't you? Anyways FFXIII is also one I thoroughly enjoyed. I also like a lot of the hated Sonic games although I totally get the problems with them.

Um, okay what if that's MOST of your library? (so not kidding....)

*ahem* Well the most unjust hate I think I've ever felt for a game was Mirrors Edge. The others I own (current gen only I don't wanna' write a book here) Tron Evolution, Alpha Protocol, Sonic the Hedgehog, Infinite Undiscovery, Enchanted Arms, Star Ocean the Last Hope, X-Blades, Fracture, Divinity II Ego Draconis, Sacred 2 Fallen Angel, Dead or Alive Xtreme 2, Armored Core For Answer, G.I. Joe the rise of Cobra, Monsters vs. Aliens, Batman (Lego not Asylum), and my favorite game of all time and one that is so hated that I was using the restroom at a local store and noticed a promotional magnet of it lovingly crazy glued to the inside of the toilet lid: Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. (An' that's pretty tough to admit when it's considered that I'm a die hard "Mortal Kombat is just reverse engineered Street Fighter" fan.) Which also gets my personal gamer oscar for cover art. You want video games to be seen as art? Easy. Just get Alex Ross to paint the cover for well, all of them.

I came here looking for recommendations for a few games to buy and what I've found is that if I read or watch a review and it's just from and independant non-established fan I seem to agree with them. If it's from a critic with a show I tend not to. I think it's just because critics with experience are getting literally jaded. Case in point: Enslaved. I've had enough fun in the first two hours of that game to make it worth it!

I like this thread. It's cool to see how many people are willing to take their own council when it comes to what they like.
