Lets see...

I have two copies of Starcraft... but only because the collector's edition of Starcraft 2 came with the original.

I've also got Streets of Rage 2 for the Wii and PS3, because I downloaded it on the VC first, then got Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection later.

Besides that, I DO have one that I legitimately bought twice. See, I bought Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the PS2 not too long ago, because I had some extra cash kicking around, and I've always wanted to own that game. Cost me 80 bucks, since it's so rare. Spent the next 2 weeks unlocking EVERYTHING in the game. Guess what was announced 3 days later? Marvel vs Capcom 2, for PSN, with online play, and EVERYTHING unlocked from the start.

Ffffuuuuu...

When my 360 croaked out of warranty a little more than a year after I bought it, I decided that Microsoft is not going to ever see another penny from me, so I rebought some games that I really wanted to replay for the PS3 (GTA 4, Bioshock, Fallout 3). I also own God Of War 1 and 2 as well as the remastered PS3 versions, if that counts.

I only get multiple copies of a game if:
a) I lose my copy and really want to see the ending (see:TWEWY)
b) I didn't know I already owned it (see:FFIV)
c) It comes with the game (Portal 2)

I have two copies of one of the games in the Splinter Cell Series, two copies of Rome: Total War, and two copies of LOTR BFME2. I don't collect them or anything; I got the second Rome copy in the Eras box set, the second BFME copy after having lost the first, only to find it again, and I have no idea why the hell I have two Splinter Cell games. :p

Silent Hill 4: The Room (PC, PS2)
Metroid Prime 2 (Wii, GameCube)
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (GameCube, N64, Collector's Edition, Special Edition)
ObsCure (Xbox, PS2, PC)
ObsCure: II (Wii, PSP)
ObsCure: The Aftermanth (Wii, PSP)

I don't know why I have multiple copies of all the ObsCure games, I guess I just realised I'm a fanboy...
Or, I'm a rich, unlikable Scroodge McDuck-esque bastard who thinks he has too much disposable in-come.

I would never buy a second copy of a game unless it was bundled in a way that made more sense...in which case I'm not buying that game but the other products in the bundle. Bottom line is I don't have the finances to buy multiple copies of games in order to support a developer. Nor would I if I had the money..that $60.00 could go to much better causes be it self serving or to support those around me.

I own 2 copies of Diablo only because when I bought Diablo2 it was the battle chest version and was cheaper than buying the standalone and expansion.

Same goes with Dragon Age Origins (PS3 and PC). I bought the full version with DLC and Awakening on a PC steam sale because it was cheaper than buying just Awakening on PS3.

I've got a couple of copies of some games, but just because I couldn't find mine at the time and the replacements are cheap.

I have 3 copies of Shadow of the Colossus.
He said smugly and with a great deal of pride.

I just keep seeing copies around at decent prices so I nab them up knowing what they're actually worth.

My first copy of Timeshift broke so I bought a second one, and I have Mass Effect 2 for both 460 and PC.

Well, I did own a few copies of various games on Steam, but I've gifted most of them to other people already. Does that count?
The only other thing I can think of (not being a console player) is an old copy of The DIG that stopped working (disc got too scratched) so I bought another one because I felt a tad nostalgic - apparently you can still buy old games like that. Amazing.

Mass Effect 1 and 2 (360, PC)
Darksiders (360, PC)
Far Cry 2 (360, PC)
Dragon Age Origins (360, PC)

The only repurchase I can justify is Dragon Age. It looked and played terribly on the 360.
