Do you prefer the company of one gender more than the other?

Yes. For some reason, I enjoy being around girls more, and that reason may be hormones. Fortunately, they have absolutely no control over me, unlike some unfortunate saps who are at the mercy of an attractive girl's whim.

Why are people segregated into two catagories? Men and women? It really depends who the company is with. I can't stand around some girls, same can be said for guys. A lot of my friends are male and I'd rather hang out with them over most. And I'd rather the company of this one Candian lady over anyone. So it comes down to 'who' and not what kind of chromosones you're carrying.
Well I meant who's company do you tend to prefer, and if you don't have any preference then just say that, I probably should have titled it "do you prefer the company of one gender more than the other" that would have been a lot better, but I didn't have much time to think it over as I accidently hit enter without the text.
Oh, by no means was I having a go at you. (I really need to learn how to type with a more passive tone) But I'm just saying, it seems odd to classify people into two groups, and I don't mean just this thread. People are people.

I agree with that, and have kind of been regretting making this thread since I hit enter.

Bah, it's a good argument. Short one, but fun. Seeing how people still preference one over the other is interesting. I'm sure someone can step up to the challenge providing an argument including hormones, animalism and whatnot.

Depends on what we're doing and who it is. I certainly am not going to be talking about the final four (Mayhem or Madness) in the company of my girlfriend, but something a bit more neutral to both our interests is fine. This seems to be a bit general of a subject, but it matters on the person to me.
If we're going to be general as possible, I think I'm gonna have to go left field and say gorilla.

Really depends on who you're with, and the situation. Some moments you just want to hang out with the guys, and some moments you want to be with your girl. Some moments you really don't want the guys around, and some moments you hope to god your girl doesn't find out.

And gender vice versa.

Edit: I pretty much just said the same thing as the guy above me didn't I?

It all depends on the situation. If you are doing something predominantly male, then it really shouldn;t be a place for a woman, unless she is a fan of the activity as well.

If you are having an evening out at a restaurant, then I suggest a woman;s companionship because you will actually have some one to talk to. We men aren;t very talkative most of the time, at least the ones I know aren;t.

Opposite sex. Men are less likely to be over dramatic and gossip. At least the ones I know of don't.

They both have their ups and downs. I have plenty of both, and I hang out with both in the course of a day.

I enjoy chilling with the opposite sex more. Mostly because my girl friends don't play video games, and it gets lonely. /sigh

Guys are fine. But ladies... Are better ;) No, but I always enjoy girls ramblings of they're lives. Like "Did Stacy just say that? Oh no she didn't!" I just find it interesting.

I prefer the company of women, my wife and others, I seem to get along overall better with them, no macho bs to contend with, no comparing size if you know what I mean I don't need that sort of nonsense so I like the ladies a lot better, plus they smell nicer
I'll take that as a compliment as i am his wife:)

Men, definitely men. Most women have bizarre "etiquette" hangups and a passive-aggressive approach to relationships that drives me insane.
Really? What kind of etiquette hang-ups?

i dont prefer ones company over the other, we all like the same things anyway XD

Ditto. The girls around here don't even play video games, they just gossip and talk about who they want to hook up next... >_<
