every game series will die out at some point. It has happened to everything so far. Just wait. It will Die, we will celebrate. Then we will play a better IP that has yet to be made.
Most game series do die out, but what about Mario? Sonic? Mortal Kombat? Medal of Honor? Halo? Unreal Tournament? If those didn't still make some money, then they wouldn't get sold.
Halo - I don't consider this to be that much of a problem. They have not completely milked the franchise, they don't release 20 games within a decade.
Yet.

Bungie being the only developer I would consider myself a fanboy of I'm deathly afraid that Halo is going to be Microsoft's new CoD with a new installment every year since Bungie let go of the reins.

People claim that Halo's been milked so bad but Bungie only releases usually one game every three years. Halo Wars was an offshoot by Ensemble and ODST was an expansion pack turned full game by greedy Microsoft. Still don't forgive them for that. It would've had a much better reaction had it just been a 20$ expansion for a 5 to 7 hour campaign.

CoD though? I don't see how it can keep much steam going after MW3. Releasing its games more often than other franchises yet still expecting them to be one big super blockbuster after the next just can't keep going for too long.

I've always thought that games like Bad Company or BattleField were better than CoD for the reason that they are focused around tactical team based gameplay that makes it more of a realistic approach to a gun fight for example it seems a little ridiculous if one guy can take down an entire team just because he has powerful weapons so in Bad Company the classes made it at least a little more balanced because if a sniper man is pinned down he can call his team mates (maybe the soldier class or something) to back him up although to be fair there are some great Bad Company players that can do fine without team mates.
