HE raises some good points, but the reviews are mostly comedy, so i don't really take them seriously.

Hurm this tread again?
Ok, you do take it with a grain. As many games he hates I love. And you will never get a fair review on games he already says he dislikes so like to the comedy and make your own choices.

Now there are a few games his reviews made me second look at a game and even buy it cause he said he enjoyed it when to me it looked like a cloned money maker.

So again, your still your own person you don't need someone to tell you what is good and what is crap. And honestly even more so from a person that comes right out and say "I hate ohh Football games" well you don't listen to them for a thumbs up on a Madden 3089 now would ya?

Sure, he's making fun of most games and he does have some points, but he's a critic. We don't go to him to make a game look good. We go to him to have him spew bile all over it.

Nope. I appreciate the fact that our cynicisms about art in general align well enough that I don't have to buy half of the tripe everybody thinks is exemplary. I share his appreciation for the same games he does, and carry the same amount of ire for the ones he does as well. Of course some jokes are merely jokes, but interpreting what he actually thinks of games is easy enough.

I honestly don't expect him to say anything redeeming about the stuff he reviews.

Though i can't help but think he must feel an odd sense of dejavu since a good few of the titles he's reviewed recently are sequels.

yers. Personally I enjoy the reviews he does, but only because he jumps on small points and makes them into a massive palaver, something which appeals to my british sense of humor i guess. . . and puts a novel twist on games that I enjoyed - things that I may have thought in passing but got over quickly.

I've never bought or refused a game based off of any review though ^^ let alone an angry man shouting into a microphone accompanied by cartoon men. . .

i reserve that privilege to screenshots ^^

Yeah, with about this much:

I mean come on, we all know he's a nitpicker and tries to create something that's entertaining as primary focus.

He still raises some good points, but he always does it in his fantastic over-the-top manner.

Personally, I disapprove of his review of WET, among other things. So, no, he is not a reliable information source. He does get some things right, however. *cough...Mirror's Edge...cough*

I watch his reviews only to see what end of the spectrum his opinion will be on. Seeing how with few exceptions he either seems to absolutely loves a game or hate it with every fiber of his being

It's humorous but honestly he's not right most of the time. I fucking loved both Bioshock games. *sniffle*

No, as a rule of thumb. More often than not I share his opinions to the letter, including the minute details of the game. On the few occasions where I don't agree with him (Borerlands, Brutal Legend, Overlord 2, Mirror's Edge, Prince of Persia), I'm invariably so in love with the game that his critiques don't affect my feelings for it. He more or less wrote the book on my preffered reviewing style (Accent the positive and the negative, be sure your points can be backed up), and as such I trust him in regards to games I haven't played. Moreover, I even agree with him when he thoroughly trashes games I love: because while his complaints are sound, I still like them to the degree where I don't need to flame him.

Woo fanboyism.

I've always just watched him for the funny, to be honest. I don't need a reviewer to decide for me whether or not to play a game.

A huge grain. It's an insult to reviewers to even call them "reviews".

I take a whole bathtub of acid.

Yahtzee's view on video games is not one I want to share.
Why do you guys keep upping the size of the object which represents the amount of taking-seriousness. Its a grain a salt because its small. You give someone the dead sea worth of salt, man you really care!! You might as well call him Barrak Obama 1 year ago and you're that mass of retards crying at every word that comes out of his mouth! I take it with a "grain of salt" and laugh my ass off because he's funny

whoever DOES take his review SERIOUSLY, is not worth the time anyway. they can flame away all they want, but only the smart troll feeders have fun with them that take it serious

I'll be honest, most opinions I hear I take with a bag of salt. Just because, no matter how truthful they sound, they usually have finer print that shows how utterly wrong they are in my eyes.
