I regularly talk to games, be it characters or not. Mostly it's "No, if I tell you to go over there, then I don't expect you to shoot." or "Now why did you do that? That wasn't very nice" though recently, Split/Second has had me murmuring about cars and their whores of robotic arm mothers.

Yes. Either calling characters names or cursing the game because it crashed and various other ways.

Well, I occasionally talk to people online, although they can't hear me. It's kind of like talking to the game.... Except I'm usually shouting at them rather than trying to hold a converstaion.

yeah I do, I don't have any specific example right now, but yeah I do, I even curse a couple enemies and characters you know

when fighting the 6th colossus (I think) on Shadow of the Colossus, I kinda talked as the colossus himself and said out loud "SHIT, I SHOULD HAVE SHAVED TODAY"
yeah wtf

I talk to myself often, but playing games escalates it to yelling. I constantly berate the main characters for stupid decisions. And I move my controller around like a steering wheel whether or not I'm playing a racing game... but that isn't talking, so forget that.

I do it in every game... usually the character's dialogue is so bad (or the protag has no dialogue at all) that I feel the need to voice him/her.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion definitely do that for me! Though I also do it in inFamous and Prototype, sometimes GTA. Any game which has exploration as a component. Heck, I played MGS4 so many times, I got sick of the story and made my own up (with help from Octocamo.

It happens, but rather rarely. It's usually a way to vent when I'm angry at something in the game, usually when the game decides to be unfair.

Sometimes, usually when the game's dialogue is shit or I get really into it. Dark Void's dialogue was pretty atrocious, so I decided to play Nolan North's character as a drunk. Dante's Inferno, on the other hand, had me saying "the Power of Christ compels you, *****" whenever I did the cross kill.

I only do it when I am around my friends kidding around. It seems a bit odd to talk to a television screen seriously.

Most of the time I talk to my games the same way I do at a theater. Sometimes you can't help but yell, "Don't go in there, stupid" at the screen. Depends on the game, though. I'll trash talk my games when I'm fighting something difficult. In Monster Hunter Tri, I definitely had some choice words for the Lagiacrus when I finally had to kill it in single player mode.

I don't usually do that but for a game like this I feel no shame in doing so.

Does anyone else do the same? Or are the certain conditions that must be satisfied before you'll talk?
Indeed. I do this as well but only with really good games (like Fallout 3) or really bad games (like Bionic Commando... the new one). With a good game like Fallout 3, I'll talk back at enemies yelling at me or if I want to come up with a snappier comeback than my character. It usually cracks my wife up.

When the game is so frustrating I feel the need to question it's logic or control response, I'll just ***** at it: "yes because I obviously wanted to jump off that cliff."

I don't talk to games, never did either. As far as scolding at it is concerned, only when other people are there to hear it.

Sort of off-topic: My mother talks to Maplestory, when she's typing something, she says what she types. ._."
