Commercially: Yeah. I think it's set for some success, due to its notoriety if nothing else.
Gameplay: It will probably be pretty "meh", but I'm always welcome to being pleasantly surprised.

devoted, long-time gamers will buy the game. unfortunately that makes up a minuscule portions of the entire gamer population; so i can't see it having that great of sales

I will bet that the game will come out, have awesome initial sales, then everyone will find out that the company had been sitting around eating pizza and drinking coke for the last ** years (no idea how long the games taken =P)

As Yahtzee said "It is better to be cynical and be pleasantly surprised then 'anticipate' and commit suicide" or something like that I don't remember

Gearbox has taken over the project. Duke Nukem is a series of First-person shooters with emphasis on the ridiculous as opposed to the real, and a sick sense of humor. Gearbox made Borderlands a First-person shooter with emphasis on the ridiculous as opposed to the real, and a sick sense of humor. I have hope for the project.

I wonder if 3D Realms had some sort of crazy vision for it. If so, then either Gearbox will cut on content or delay to implement it fully. Lol.

I think it will do good. Do I think it will be a good game? Dont know, but if anything, ppl will be buying it for the novelty of it, and it may get a few months before its dropped for a new game.

Well, I'll tell you what. I doubt it will be good enough to Yahtzee to make him eat his words. I doubt it'll necessarily justify the really really REALLY long wait for the thing to finally get released. However, I believe that it will be good enough for me. I haven't exactly been agonizing over this, but my opinion is that I would like to find out for myself...and if Eidos goes bankrupt then, well, sorry...

It's taken longer to develop than the Apollo space program, the hype is enormous. Unless it's the most awesomemest game EVER it just won't live up to it.

I'm just hoping it's an enjoyable FPS, even if it's only memorable because it's Duke Nukem Forever.

I'm not optimistic about it, but that won't stop me from buying it since as I said a few months ago, I want to be able to say "I own Duke Nukem Forever."

Regardless of how it is the sheer emotions it will generate will fuel my machine for world domination.

P.S: I believe it will be good because of duke nukem's sheer force of testosterone.

I'm not super excited for the game, like it's gonna be the greatest game to ever exist, just hope that what was presented and we waited so long for does just the tiniest bit well, that way everyone's happy. I certainly would be happy to know it had even average sales.

I'm not comfortable with it, this game may very well be worth all the years of waiting we were put through, or, it could be just like any other FPS like the way Yahtzee put it in his video. Or.. it could very well be so bad, it'd be the way E.T. for the Atari was like so many years ago.

I don't know guys, I'm really nervous about this, post your feedback and feelings about this, we won't know till it actually sees the light of day, if it ever will. It could get delayed AGAIN, who knows. But post anyway what your feelings are.
As E.T.? I don't think it's going to crash the fucking game industry and will sell so bad the copies will have to be dumped in a hole.

Like this dude above me said,Gearbox are the guys for the job. Now that it's out of the hands of that fat tard George Broussard and his team, and in the hands of a capable and responsible company, it will be a competent, enjoyable, if not groundbreaking game. And that's all that matters. For 50 euro, we'll get a fun single-player shooter with a fun multiplayer experience. Word of mouth will get around and it will sell accordingly.

I'm sure this game will turn out well.

No, it will not be the second coming of Christ. Of course it won't. It doesn't have to be.

...Well as everyone else has said, no it won't live up to the hype. ...Surprisingly there has been very little actual hype though, for 12 years.

If it flops, gearbox wont go under. ...gearbox didn't pour all the money into it. What they need to make back is fairly marginal compared to the actual cost of the game's creation.

So really, if it does well, sweet. If not....oh well.

What I'm worried about more is if it -is- successful. Then they'll redesign Duke like Dante, or Lara. Then we'll all just be sad and hate the gaming industry >.>

Pretty sure it will be successful. I mean its a Duke Nukem game, there isn't much needed to make people happy who are fans of it. Just lots of blood, lots of shooting, jokes, strippers, and to make sure that its fun to play. Just off of that alone it should be good like the past ones.

as long as Duke Nukem Forever keeps its style, it will be a good game. Cause FPS's are becoming more clones latly and needs some diversity, and i think this game will at least bring some.
