Leave Team Ninja alone! The proportions of Capcom and Namco characters blew past those of Team Ninja's years ago.

On the subject of Samus, the plot and characterization of Other M wasn't bad because of Team Ninja. It was bad because of Yoshio Sakamoto, the series' co-creator and the writer of Metroid: Other M. And let's not pretend Samus wasn't made into a woman for the sole purpose of sex appeal in the first place. The first game where her gender is revealed is the first game we see her in her underwear. As a reward for beating the game no less! Oh, and don't even get me started on zero suit...

You can rage about T&A in videogames all you want, but at least direct your anger on the ones who most deserve it. Hating Team Ninja for bewbs is like hating Germans for Nazis (no, not exactly, but this is the best I've got).

Also, Alyx Vance is nothing but a girl next door with a schoolgirl crush, pure pandering for the male audience (AKA fanservice). She's not a shining example of female characterization just because she has an average figure and plain clothes. Deal with it!

jiggle physics in a fighting game?

...that seems......painful

duchaked said:
they could try to be like "oh it's okay we'll make it more realistic" and introduce "bouncing physics" instead
seemingly slight change, but...oh god wtf I'm just gonna stop here

I try to stay away from Japanese culture (or not get too into it) lol
that seems odd..with your avatar

anyway don't let it put you off Anime, theres some fantastic stuff there

I'm sorry but you have it all wrong.

Most women just want to be able to be heroic and not just eye candy. You secret world example isn't women saying they want sexualisation it's them saying they want clothing options to make sense.

Women can be attractive without being oversexualised.

Games like Mass Effect, Skyrim, Dragon Age and Fallout 3 are very popular with women as they can be female without being some porn star traipsing about the environment in a pvc bikini. I think what it comes down to is this.

1. Appropriate dress for the situation
2. How a character comports themselves
3. How they are treated in the narrative.
4 How the camera treats them (Miranda's bum anyone?)

People who bring up this issue ARE NOT asking for women to be 'ugly' we just want them to be appropriate.
I'm not sure. They still have fem shep doing the hands up dainty jog. I rarely if ever see that nowadays but in the future that would be damn near be impossible. Especially since the character went through military training and is a commanding officer. Any D.I. who isn't blind would be shouting at them to stop doing that inside of a second.

Pfft. Let me know when an Imperial guardsmen becomes a living saint.
Holy shit they can't even cope with a freaking board game having powerful women

It's kind of sad in a way.

Oh come on dude I have F cups and they still aren't bigger than my head. (Although my old bras make decent knee pads while looking at the car)

Don't be silly.

I agree with the sports bra though, it just looks painful to me, having those things constantly clanging around.
I agree. It's almost like it was designed purely by men for men.

Overall, I'm not that offended at a series like DoA. It's so honest at what it is. And the fanservice just looks so unnatural and silly to me anyway.

But the whole argument 'it's a part of our culture' is BS.
Unless he is referring to people misunderstanding what this game is about, and that it's not meant to be taken seriously.

Is it any good as a fighting-game?

Japan, Where the breast is the best and Showing women as airheaded sex toys is A-Okay!

I also like that he's implying the rest of the world is fucked up for NOT portraying all women as sentient blow up dolls.
No. No! Wrong!

Sentient blow up doll airheads that also giggle constantly and enjoy being fondled by old men.

Get your facts straight.
Hey, if you wanna be anal about it I think you'll find it's usually Fat hairy businessmen.

I really love how the PC crowd here is actually sexist themselves, because no real woman would want to wear heels or have large boobs unless its just to please men or could be attracted to the so called "male power fantasy".

And honestly, you're asking for appropriate wear/properties in a fighting game.Pointless.

Yeah but they aren't real women...they are designed that way...

If a real woman could be a professional fighter with what looks like triple Z cups and wearing high heels then fuck, I would be IMPRESSED.

If that's true, that's just sad; pathetic really.
But I'm more inclined to think it's just part of the corporate culture at Team Ninja.

Though it could always be worse: There's still Ivy from Soul Caliber, who continues to become more grotesque with each game.

I"m not really understanding your argument here.Could you rephrase it?

You're missing the point, it's a fighting video game, why do you want to cling for realism in genre like that.Tekken has a fighting panda, do you complain how pandas are beat up by half naked men?

Meh, DoA always had the jiggle and always was a pretty solid fighter, I say we just get used to it :p

Besides, there are girls with boobs naturally bigger than their heads that move like that, and I'm not gonna discriminate against them because they probably will have enough problems in life without it.

Mr. Hayashi, as a fellow man, I love titties. They're fantastic.

But honestly man, of all the stupid things to say: part of your culture?

You aren't fooling anyone Mr. Hayashi. Just admit it; you and Team Ninja just love titties. Sounds a lot less silly and makes more sense :p

Well...to rephrase, women who are real have made a choice to dress up how they want but in this case the devs have CHOSEN to portray them like that. So you can't really use 'You are just persecuting women' excuse as they aren't sentient.

Men aren't ridiculously sexualised though are they.

Tekken may have pandas and velociraptors beating people up but at least they have a range of female builds rather than Tits and Ass and vacant stare-O-rama like DOA.

They could turn the entire female cast into blow up sex dolls and no one would notice.

Hell guys, you know that when someone say this is sexual exploitation they mean that they are exploiting you not the non existent characters right? I guess you are fine with that.

You called?

Sisters of Battle know how to get shit done, son.
Oh yes the Sisters of Battle know how to get shit done, like having their blood be excellent anti-demon lubricant for the Grey Knights.

Seriously though why does it seem that people are suprised that a DOA game of all games has a focus on breasts? The DOA series isn't awful but lets be honest here, its USP is that it gets big breasted women with physically impossible breast movement and have them fight one another for the entertainment of others. Is it right? Probably not but then neither are torture porn movies like Hostel but they still exist. Do you know what I personally do when things like Hostel are released? I simply ignore them because I do not like them, I understand that even though I personally think they are wrong there is an audience for such media.

Really it seems like people should be complaining more about the Extreme volleyball series as that cuts out all the pretense of it being a tournament fighter and simply has you doing things to get the DOA girls in Bikinis and dance for you. (Seriously, I am not making that up, go search for it on youtube) You know what though? I unashamedly like the DOA franchise, despite its problems and its completely wonky breast physics it's just a hell of a lot of fun to play and I will buy DOA 5.
