it was fantastic, im surprised its taken this long for a christmas special to be actually based on a christmas carol haha
I actually genuinely enjoyed those ones more. They felt like genuine Doctor Who adventures and part of the series as a whole, just with a Christmassy bent, while this one was essentially just time out to go "YAY CHRISTMAS". Maybe I'm just Scrooge, I dunno.The_root_of_all_evil said:Far more Christmassy than any of the other Xmas episodes, and just far better because IT SET UP WHY IT WAS.
That's what always killed the other ones.

That's the one thing you always have to remember, Drama trumps Logic. In spades.Mana Fiend said:Who gives a crap it was probably breaking some previously set law, I thought that reveal was fantastic.
Is it on iPlayer already?TimeLord said:I am going to watch it again now xDChrono212 said:I.

Where I'm completely the reverse and am thankful we've ditched the heart-string cat's cradle we used to have. All tug and no substance.Aerowaves said:I'm not loving the new direction Who's been taking since the change in writer, personally. Course, it's still unmissable, but I preferred the old ones.
I completely agree! I've always liked the secondary companion. Mickey, Jack, Rory etc. I'm glad they are keeping Rory!Plinglebob said:Arthur Darvill makes it into the main credits as a regular. While I'm probably in a minority I've always liked Rory as a character and glad he's going to be about more next season.
It should be soon.Chrono212 said:Is it on iPlayer already?

Sadly, too many Dr Who fans (or fans of a lot of Sci-Fi shows in general) forget this.The_root_of_all_evil said:That's the one thing you always have to remember, Drama trumps Logic. I never liked Mickey because he always seemed to be used as someone who the writers could use as an idiot to make the Dcotor seem cooler in comparison where as Rory is normally shown as at least willing to try if not actually useful. It also helps that the romance between Amy and Rory feels believable.TimeLord said:I completely agree! I've always liked the secondary companion. I'm so glad they went on location in America rather than just a sound stage. It looked great even from those scant few seconds.TimeLord said:It really, really, REALLY does! Doesn't it!thenumberthirteen said:It was quite good. The singing was great, and the new series looks fantastic.
I can't watch it here, damn, I always forget about the teasers.Plinglebob said:
It was silly, but it was a good kind of silly that was buried so well in good acting and great writing that you didn't care it was silly, you silly billy.OhJohnNo said:I don't get how this episode, with its ridiculous premise on paper, managed to avoid being silly - but it did, as it does so many times in the new series. More proof that Steven Moffat is a godly writer.
