The Gallifrey that the Doctor creates creates the Doctor, and that's why the Mighty Morphin' Power Daleks and every major Dr. Who villain are trying to stop it.

Some big scary thing opens up. eg. Genisis Ark/Void Ship, Pandora box
And it's kind of like an invasion!
Another person that we've met before comes back: Pete Tyler/Jake, River song.
The Daleks have some new fancy types.

Well here's a thing:
According to the wiki, HP Lovecraft's works are real in the Whoniverse. So that means it's possible (barely) that we could see Dr Who fending of Daleks, Cybermen and CTHULU!!!

What's with all the hate on Corden?
He insulted Sir Patrick, which is bad but does not reflect on his ability as an actor
