I figured out in the preview at the end of "the lodger" that the box either contained or was meant to contain him. The big surprise though were the artificial romans.

I was sort of half-expecting the roman soldier

Who turned out to be Rory

to be Captain Jack Hartness. It seemed like the right time for him to enter.

i absolutely loved this episode, but i must say i saw it coming miles away, i mean come on the doctor already has all these super-powerful enemies, and if there was a real pandorica like he said he'd know about it, i just think if the producers want a plot twist they shouldn't telegraph it so much, then again the whole TARDIS is a bad guy thing blindsided me so maybe I'm being a little harsh

I am confused. Didn't the Daleks just try to destroy the universe two years ago? And they absolutely refused to ally with the Cybermen four years ago? If the Doctor was actually going to destroy the universe, why would only the Doctor's enemies try to stop him? Not to mention how all those races got access to time travel.

I think it's a trick. All those aliens were fakes, just like the Romans. Whoever hijacked the TARDIS is also responsible for the duplicants. He/she/it used them to distract the Doctor and get him locked into the Pandorica.

EDIT: I just remembered what the Nestene Consciousness is, which makes my theory less likely. My questions still stand, though.
EDIT:

I just got into the series a couple months ago, and have been working my way from the first episode all the way to this one. Now that I'm caught up, I have to say:
THIS IS A DAMN RUDE CLIFFHANGER FOR ME TO BE CAUGHT UP ON!!! I want to watch the next one now!
This was probably one of the most memorable Matt Smith episodes in my opinion.

Maybe a stupid question but, if the Pandorica is a tale derived from Amy's memories of Pandora's Box, then how did the doctor hear of the fairytale of the Pandorica?
Maybe, they're actually still in the dream thing. The Dreamlord could have been the one demanding silence, which is why something isn't right about Amy, because it's all a dream, but they don't know it yet.

Awesomeness personified. I actually liked Song in this episode.
How can you not like River? She's probably my favourite character in the new series after Matt Smiths Doctor and Donna Noble.
Sorry, still don't like River.

But, yeah...that was...beyond.....words....

And BOO to using Rory to shoot Amy....that's REALLY mean.

If a house can hold all the memories of those that lived inside it...how many memories can a TARDIS hold? Enough to re-create a copy of the Universe?

Also, Prisoner Zero appeared in the spoilers but not in the episode....

My god that was unreal!! Seriously I knew Moffat was good, but that was... spectacular. I've only got two theories for how the next episode goes:

1. It was the doctor controlling the Tardis from within the Pandorica (In the future), the cracks in time let him escape and then there is day saving.. somehow.

2. It was the Valelord (I think that's how it's spelt) controlling the Tardis and they're all F***ed.

P.S Did anyone notice that the all important date (26th of June 2010) is next saturday, the day of the finale, good foreshadowing or what?
Its the Valeyard. And that would be difficult as the Valeyard IS the Doctor.
The Valeyard is a manifestation of the Doctor, not the Doctor himself

My very first post here, so I don't know how to put the spoiler box in (I'm assuming everyone's seen it anyway though). Rory was the good wizard. It was the personification of Rory that tricked the Doctor into that scenario.

To be honest guys and gals, I saw all of that episode coming. Within the first ten minutes I'd outlined all the major plot points that turned up over the next forty (except the android romans), and wasn't proved wrong.

I hope they come up with something less obvious for the conclusion, because I was expecting a belter of a final episode, and so far it's kinda pedestrian.
All I can see when I read this is that bit in Futurama when the guy gets hit by a car and wakes up in a casino that is actually a plane with a gremlin on the wing destroying it but noone will believe him because he's actually Hitler and Eva Braun can't talk because she takes off her face and she's a mutant fly! bender's response to the whole thing; "Saw it coming"*

No. I call bullshit. There is no WAY you guessed that all the Doctor's enemies from the last five series teamed up and made up the legend of the Pandorica to trick him into coming to Stonehenge so they could trap him under it. I'd believe you if you guessed that the thing that was meant to be in the Pandorica was the Doctor, because they've made that abundantly obvious throughout the series, but don't try to pull that crap that you saw all that coming in the first ten minutes, because that is clearly a lie.

*I couldn't find the clip on Youtube. Funny scene though.
Couple of things fella: Firstly, they did everything short of paint "the Doctor's goes here" on the side of the Pandorica. Secondly, it's the season finale, which means you can guarantee that some (if not, in this case, all) of the Doctor's enemies will re-appear. Mid-season is the time for new enemies, so there is time to establish back-story, but final episodes are fit only for returning bad guys. Admittedly this assumption was made with knowledge of how TV dramas work rather than anything given away in the storyline, but the conclusion was still there to be reached.

In closing, I'd ask that you be more careful in future before throwing around words like "bullshit" and "lie". Whilst I don't doubt that there are people out there who for some reason feel the need to big themselves up in order to impress people they'll never meet, I am most definitely not one of them.

Yeah, his 13th regeneration. Though It would have made sense as the Doctor has encountered the Valeyard before.

The Valeyard is actually a manifestation of his 12th regeneration ;)

That would be such an anti-climax, can't remember the last time I watched a film or tv show with "It was all a dream" and actually enjoyed it, well except "Amy's Choice" but that was different. Could be worse though, they could have the Doctor wake up as Tennant, go to the bathroom and find Rose in the shower.

I was half expecting a 'dark doctor' from the future to come out of the box. I suspect Rory will find a way to get the doctor out. Like feeding Amy to the crack in the wall. If she didnt exist, the doctor would not have been baited. Since Rory 'returned' through Amys' memory (wild guess). Perhaps Amy will come back from somewhere else.

head spinny stuff x_O but i look forward to next week :3 How will it even start?
