Also, what did the stone wall infront of the TARDIS door mean?

FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC!!!!

Little pissed I didn't see it coming though. Do I get points for at lesat being sort of right as I did guess the Doctor would be the one in the Pandorica and he was (eventually).

The best points of that episode for me were probably the words created at the dawn of the universe (I cracked up when I saw them), his speech to the fleet and the revelation about the Pandorica. It was a nice reminder of why everyone wanted the Moff to take over.

Kinda heartwarming to see all those bad guys come together to try and save the universe even if they did kinda screw it up completely.

How long did it take everyone else to figure out what the box was for?
For me it was when that roman soldier said that it was ready.

Awesomeness personified. I actually liked Song in this episode.
How can you not like River? She's probably my favourite character in the new series after Matt Smiths Doctor and Donna Noble.

Snipped for good measure.
dude, spoiler tags.

But yeah that was one hell of an episode. It'll be interesting to see what happens next.
The title of the thread has spoilers in it. People should know better if they come into this thread, so i don't need to use tags.

River couldn't exit, TARDIS couldn't shut down so it exploded

I don't know how loud I can say this but

TIME TRAVEL DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY!

No matter how often you claim big timey wimey ball you cannot just try to resolve your writing fumbles with use of it.

To whit:

We know for sure shooting fact that River Song died with the tenth Doctor David tenant in her future, the doctor's past, aving met and married the Doctor at a later point in his current timeline.

This means that River Song cannot die now, because it means that No. 10 will never have met her, meaning No. 11 won't trust her in the same way that he did because he had previously met her as No. 10, meaning that the entire events of this season would be thrown into nonsense by the rewriting of history. You can't just change stuff like that.

The only other option to choose is that River Song does not die, the Doctor does not die, and clearly the universe cannot have not existed (Unless they want to claim that they are just undoing all of the Doctor Who continuity for no real reason) meaning there is very little dramatic tension. We know he must succeed and that River must live because they have already met in the future, meaning that there must be a future otherwise this future could not have progressed as it did.

The only tension is whether Amy dies, which frankly I don't care about from a longer term time travel story point of view (sure emotionally her death would suck, but that's not the issue). I love Steven Moffat, and after he went so far as to coin the phrase 'big timey wimey ball' I thought he understood time paradox a little better tha this. This is a weak storyline with no tension behind it because unless they end the series with the universe utterly destroyed then we already know how the problem is resolved.

I could write a better time travel story than this, and mine suck.

DAMN that was BRILLIANT!!! Fantastic twist, didn't see this coming. In hindsight it all makes sense; who's the most feared creature of the cosmos? It was so obvious!

Next week can't come soon enough.

Which is, coincidently, my new MSN Quote Of The Week, as I change it after every DW episode with a new quote.

And yes, the Doctor wins at giving speeches.

Same, just for shits & giggles.

Same, all I could think was "Oh for fuck sake, THEM!?"

but then they all appeared which to me was quite an interesting turn

An interesting take on Pandora's box too. The Doctor = the evil contained? Hmm I like.

She just seemed so snide and condescending. Her prison breakout scene definitely redeemed her to me.

Pretty much same here
but I always thought it would be the doctor inside it. (eventually at least)

My god that was unreal!! Seriously I knew Moffat was good, but that was... spectacular. I've only got two theories for how the next episode goes:

1. It was the doctor controlling the Tardis from within the Pandorica (In the future), the cracks in time let him escape and then there is day saving.. somehow.

2. It was the Valelord (I think that's how it's spelt) controlling the Tardis and they're all F***ed.

P.S Did anyone notice that the all important date (26th of June 2010) is next saturday, the day of the finale, good foreshadowing or what?

Also, i loved both the cameos from every episode, and the heartwarming, and heartrending moment where Amy remembered Rory. ( and then got shot.)

Great episode that, I always thought it would be some incarnation of the Doctor in the Pandorica, but I never thought that it would be an empty prison built specifically to contain this Doctor.

I also didn't see the Tardis going the way it did, or Amy's twist. Bravo, Mr Moffat.
