Gah I keep forgetting to post this: Let's not forget the heart of the TARDIS / the vortex is inside the TARDIS and if the TARDIS explodes the vortex is exposed. (this isn't a theory just food-for-thought)

May i point out time travel is also breaking the laws of physics?

To be honest guys and gals, I saw all of that episode coming. Within the first ten minutes I'd outlined all the major plot points that turned up over the next forty (except the android romans), and wasn't proved wrong.

I hope they come up with something less obvious for the conclusion, because I was expecting a belter of a final episode, and so far it's kinda pedestrian.
Well, it came as a total surprise to me, and in my opinion was a fantastic script. It seems, though, that you can't please everyone. If you didn't like that episode I highly doubt you'll like the next one, as it's a two part story written by the same guy. Also, remember it is a children's show, so even if it's pedestrian in your opinion, it's written for a different audience.

Details, details....

Stephen Hawking said that time travel to the past wasn't possible. To the future on the other hand...

I'm only going to put this one more time, but every time you say wibbly wobbly timey winey ball, I think:

It's a well known writer's cop out. You can't just claim that something that breaks continuity, established laws of travel, whatever writing fumble you made, is due to a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff.

I see other people thought the voice in tardis sounded like Davros too, I might be misremembering but didn't Dalek Caan say something to the effect of "silence is coming" too.

Well, to reference another great Sci-Fi entity, you can also look at it in the sense of the WSOGMM, the whole sort of general mish-mash. The impication is that time and space are interwoven and aren't linar but are mearly percived because we don't percive the 'big ball'/ 'mish-mash'.
So, a cop out, possibly, but one with an explination.

I had £50 riding on Samuel Jackson coming out of the box..shit.

Amazing episode though.
That would have been freaking awesome!
But damn with The doctor locked in a box with time locks shields etc etc, and Amy presumably dead, how the hell will they get out? And we know that at least the doctor will because Dr Song(sp) survives the Tardis exploding, or something

Quotes of the Episode
I would add this one...
"What type of starships?"
"......PREPARE TO DESCEND FROM OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRBBBIIITTTTTT"
"DOCTOOOOOR...... Those are Daleks!"

Hahaha, I am definitely adding that!
How about the Cybermen telling Amy "You will be assimilated."? That is one brilliant nerdgasm line paying homage to the Borg. Awesome.

I can use the term "Wibbly Wobbly, Timey Wimey" because it is a quote. If I made that up on the spot, then I would agree with you

The episode was a bit of a mind-fuck but, overall, not bad.

I kinda had a feeling at the beginning that the doctor from a parallel universe tried to break into this one,(look at Dr. Who series 2 for more explanation, mainly doomsday)

Matt Smith gets fried in the chair.

Turns into Tom Baker (reverse regenerating....somehow)

Tom Baker breaks those locks, takes a Roman cloak, turns it into a scarf...somehow

Tom Baker then kicks Rory, and tells him to grow a pair...somehow.

Tom Baker then blows up the "Alliance" with his awesome screwdriver that has also reverse regenerated....somehow.

Any questions?

I spent the whole episode thinking the Doctor was in the box.

I was half right.

Absolutely brilliant. I usually dread the last couple of episodes of Doctor Who as, with the exception of the masters return (and even that was a bit wobbly near the end), they are usually a terrible muddled mess. This episode was one of the best of the series however, loved the intro especially.
