Doctor Who Episode 3: Victory of the Daleks

I know they're a callback to the original series, I dislike the new Dalek design. I prefer the blue eye rather than a yellow one, and I also don't much enjoy the way they stick out in the back. I dunno.
Overall, I thought this episode was pretty weak (makes sense, considering it wasn't written by Moffat), especially with the half-assed final act. Seriously. How does making an android human deactivate a bomb? That was never explained and really didn't work as a major threat.
The cracks are too obvious. I liked it better when it just appeared on the Doctor's TARDIS monitor for a few seconds before he switched it off. That felt like Bad Wolf- something very brief, not really shouting out at you, but you look it up online and go "well that's interesting".
Next week looks good though.

The daleks looked kinda....gay/rainbowy

The episode was meh, I didn't like the new Daleks with the stupid multi colours. (The best description I heard was my mate calling them the Dell Inspiron Daleks)
I also didn't get how the guy stopped blowing up simply because he was human.

Another thing I'm picking up on a hell of alot so far. Amelia (Amy, whatever) keeps being the one that actually saves the day instead of the Doctor.

So am I the only person who saw those Daleks and immediately though 'Go go Power Rangers...'? Cause that shit seemed pretty obvious.

I'm not sure how I felt about this episode. Things kind of went downhill for me when the rainbow Dalek squad arrived and then further down when they attached lasers to Spitfires and then made them space-ready in less that 10 minutes. That didn't make a lot of sense - I mean, I know it's sci-fi but they normally conform to some sort of realism.

I think the gravity bubbles that the robot guy "invented" meant that the spitfires didn't need to be airtight or anything. I'm not saying that makes it more realistic, it doesn't. It's some flawed writing that they didn't make that more obvious, particularly in a genre where the fans are notorious for nitpicking

I pretty much got the gravity bubble crap, as weird as it seemed, but the lasers still came out of nowhere. As far as I could tell the soldiers were still using rifles, so that suggested they hadn't reverse-engineered the Dalek's lasers yet, but there they were, on the Spitfires.

Also, did anyone else find it hilarious when the white Dalek kept yelling mundane commands like 'EXPLAIN! EXPLAIN!'?

It was all a bit last minute, they probably just popped the lasers on the planes, they weren't gonna arm every soldier in the British army in about half an hour.

As for the Daleks making me laugh, "CAN I GET YOU A CUP OF TEA" had me in tears

The best moment ever is when a Dalek offers a cup of tea. But I do find it a bit odd that the "Drone" is as big as the others.

This episode was worth watching simply to hear one of the Ironsides/Daleks go "WOULD YOU LIKE SOME TEA?
