first off they wouldnt, secondly they could not because i dont know if you noticed but fishbourne and freeman are getting on and being a doctor entails a lot of running and moving about.

but yes it would be nice to see some cultural diversity in doctor who.
Now Hold off for a second not all doctors have been about frantic flight from point a to point be as this is a "12th doctor should be..." thread then we are obviously including the original series and speaking of originals the first doctor was no spring chicken. in fact some of my favourite doctors have been older ones such as jon Pertwee.

and all that running about is merely bbc's way of fast forwarding the series so instead of long runs like in the good old days where one plot could take many many episodes they can hammer out something half as good in half the time

What about Mickey and Martha?
I actually thought that was lame... they BOTH existed only to make the show more politically correct. Thank God the writers were good, because Mickey was on the path to becoming the WORST Dr. Who character to exist, and Martha was just sort of odd.

I don't have anything against any race, but RTD seemed to think he had to include EVERY SINGLE ONE and they all had to make out at one point or something and that's just stupid.
But I liked Mickey...

Mos Def would be pretty cool actually, I could imagine him using his Ford Prefect persona pretty well for the Doctor.
I concur, Mos Def is a wicked actor and would do the show proud

Not in the slightest.

Shoehorning people into a role "because they're Black" is pretty bad.
Yeah I totally agree.

If it was because that particular actor was more awesome than ANYONE they auditioned then I'd have no problem with it, but knowing the BBC they'd cast a black/asian/bit of both man just to 'appease the masses', when really that's positive discrimination. Naughty, naughty.

He was cool as hell at the end, but I just hated how whiny he was for the majority of it.

I wouldn't mind seeing a black doctor, as long as they're a good actor.

Wouldn't mind a female doctor either providing they don't just cast some talentless supermodel who waves her tits at the screen constantly.

If a black actor gives the best audition, then put him in the TARDIS. If they have a black actor just because he's black then that's just stupid. It's like the whole "Spider-man should be black!" thing in the reboot. We should be at a point where it's the performance that matters, not the colour of the actor.

So long as its an English actor playing the doctor I don't think it matters, however I do think he should stay male (there has been some suggestion that there should be a female doctor).
