I agree. if a black guy turns up to auditions and does well, they should say fuck off let him on. but if they put a black guy in just cause (2) hes black there will be a lot of problems.

Personally I would love to see Hugh Laurie as the doctor.
Because common, they were thinking about doing James Bond black, Ian Flemming didn't picture James Bond as black.

No. This is why "I am Legend" was a horrible adaption. They catered to much to the black role model known as Will Smith and because of that the movie didn't have the same merit as the novel did.

No, it should be whoever is best for the role. Race shouldn't come into it.

And anyway, it won't be for at least another five series, that's how long a contract Matt Smith's signed.

I personally love Matt Smith; he made me realise just how much ham David Tennant put into his performances as the Doctor and he is superbly entertaining.

It's all relative I suppose.

I should also mention to the topic at hand...IF we must have a black actor, I support Paterson Joseph. I think he'd make a great Doctor.

Joseph Paterson is the perfect candidate.

Not that well known but has a role in Peep Show and Survivors in the UK. And he's British so that would work. Apparently they were considering him anyway before Matt Smith got the part.

I agree with him being a potential Dcotor, but feel the need to point out his name is actually Paterson Joseph.

He'd be a wonderful Doctor imho. He's got comic timing, can do drama and is classy as hell
