The Docter does have a child. Coupla series back he ran in on a war and was cloned. His daughter was shot by the end but then regenerated and blasted off into space, we haven't seen her since. Pretty sure it's her after a coupla regenerations.

The Doctor is going to have a lot of parental care cheques to fill out if the Government ever catch up with him.... Leaving children all over the universe like that....disgusting.

But why would a 20odd year old regenerate into a child....

We've gone from William Hartnell to Matt Smith. I think that might set up some sort of precedent.

I'm pretty sure things will start making sense as the series progresses. IF they don't, I will be unhappy :(

OMG the girl regenerated! She fucking regenerated! Mind blown!
I think The Little Girl's Father is The Doctor(Obviously)but then who could be the mother? I personally have 3 candidates:
1. River Song: Let's face it, they obviously have a history together, rumors have circulated that they're married since her introduction and River seemed genuinely heartbroken when the Doctor simply blew off her kiss.

2. Amy: Now I know what your thinking, oh, It can't be because she's married to RORY! but I believe Amy's probably right about side-effects of giving birth or getting pregnant on the TARDIS(maybe you are born part TimeLord) and she did say that she was pregnant to the doctor at the end of episode 1, but maybe she had her memory wiped by the Silence.

3. The Doctor's Daughter: Now, for those of you that watched through the Tennant Era will know that after the Sontaran 2 parter Doctor #10, Donna and Martha all went to a planet where Humans had been waging a war with a group of fish people for ''Countless Generations'' and the Doctor had immediately been put through a cloning machine, cloned, and said clone was about 20 years old and a GIRL, technically being his daughter. Long story short, she gets shot near the end and the Doctor leaves before she regenerates, hijacks a freighter annd flys off into space, now my theory is somewhere along the way, she regenerates gets one of those timetravelling gadgets that Jack and River have(this being 5XXX century) and goes back to 1960s to be captured by the silence, hooked up to that Suit, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand yeah, that's my rant

Eh she was dead when he left

Interesting stuff with Rivers timeline. The last time she kissed the Doctor is the first time for him.
Am I the only one who found that sad?
It was sad just seeing her face when she realised she's never kissed him in his timeline before and it's her last. But how does she know it's her last? I suppose being back to front she must have known that when the day would come that it was the first time for him, it would be her last.
But she didn't, since she's younger than before so obviously hadn't experienced it

This is why I think the theory of it being the Doctors Child from a couple of series ago being a bit crap.

2 other notable things. The 1st is we still didn't find out what that room from the Lodger is really for. The 2nd is River shot a Silence without looking. Writing slip up due to "Rule of Cool" or there's now something else to add to the seemingly never-ending list of questions about River Song.

I wonder if it was the Rani, but it was probably someone from this series's daughter.

Well the Doctor says when he exits the TARDIS into the craft that he'd seen one before but abandoned and he says "I wonder how that happened, I guess I'm about to find out". Being that the Lodger is set in 2010/2011 and this in 1969. The Silence who owned the craft had been long since killed by humans.

Also, you could also argue as to why blinking doesn't instantly make you loose your memory. It seems there is a short delay before forgetting. I would say that would be the excuse.

I'm still against the whole idea of the Doctor having a love interest. It makes the character lose some of it's appeal somehow. I disliked the beginning of the episode but liked it gradually as it went off. Anyway, it looks like the next few episodes are going to be "proper" doctor who episodes.

Fair point on the 1st (4D thinking is a pain in the arse) and I suppose I just about buy it on the 2nd :)
