My guess was using it to overload the various panels the were standing next to causing them to blow up.SNIPERFOX ft. Harry P.Ness said:Does anyone know what the bloody balls was the doc doing with the screwdriver?

I'm sure that's what he would claim if askedPlinglebob said:My guess was using it to overload the various panels the were standing next to causing them to blow up.SNIPERFOX ft. Harry P.Ness said:Does anyone know what the bloody balls was the doc doing with the screwdriver?

That was my guess as well, I took it as that because there seemed to be three effects, Rivers pulse blasts, Silence lightning (Which looked fantastic by the way, whichever SFX company the production team switched to, I hope they kept them) and Electrical discharge from panels the Doctor was overloading.
It was funny ^^Cpt Corallis said:Also, did anyone notice that the Doctor single handedly brought down Nixon? I laughed quite a lot.
Yes. but I'm trying quite hard to forget about it. If I don't remember it, the Doctor can't be dead!TimeLord said:It was funny ^^Cpt Corallis said:Also, did anyone notice that the Doctor single handedly brought down Nixon? I laughed quite a lot.
Also...... anybody else realise that the 1103 Doctor is still dead?
Cpt Corallis said:yeah, i really liked the effects in this episode. now all we need is some decent alien effects!Plinglebob said:My guess was using it to overload the various panels the were standing next to causing them to blow up.[/quoteSNIPERFOX ft. I like the idea of it being the first ever, but I don't think Moffat is going to do that to the continuity.Plinglebob said:Big, wild (but fun) guesses here, but I'm also calling Time Travel messes up Human DNA/feotuses and the Time Lords are actually evolved Humans with Amy's kid being either the 1st in a new generation or the first ever Time Lord.
I never really liked the character of Doctor Song, and now she's kissed the Doctor it'll be all downhill from here. I'm just a bit tired of her. The doctor doesn't need a love interest he's too busy for that.georgesell123 said:I'm still against the whole idea of the Doctor having a love interest. It makes the character lose some of it's appeal somehow. I disliked the beginning of the episode but liked it gradually as it went off. Anyway, it looks like the next few episodes are going to be "proper" doctor who episodes.
That's gonna be this serieses Bad Wolf/Torchwood/Crack/Bees are gone etc. =)TimeLord said:It was funny ^^Cpt Corallis said:Also, did anyone notice that the Doctor single handedly brought down Nixon? I laughed quite a lot.

he brought him down? watergate hadnt happened yet Nixon was just asking if he would be rememberedCpt Corallis said:Also, did anyone notice that the Doctor single handedly brought down Nixon? I laughed quite a lot.
To be fair, the sycorax were running away, and Harriet Jones shot them in the back. The Silence had manipulated Humanity throughout time and had no qualms about it whatsoever. The Doctor just manipulated their manipulation.Generic Gamer said:I'll tell you what didn't sit right for me:Togs said:in two minds about the episode- the bit in the orphanage was brilliant and how the doctor defeated the silence was likewise but theres still something about it that doesnt sit right.

I don't like guns! Killing is wrong and I deposed a prime minister for it! Genocide is bad and I locked away my own people, a version of myself and stand against it no matter what!

I just made the entire human race into murderers through hypnosis and forced them to commit genocide! Trolololololol
Well that's just good for establishing a difference between 10 and 11. Remember the 8th Doctor fought a Time War that killed millions. And the 4th attempted retroactive genocide on the Daleks.Generic Gamer said:I'll tell you what didn't sit right for me:Togs said:in two minds about the episode- the bit in the orphanage was brilliant and how the doctor defeated the silence was likewise but theres still something about it that doesnt sit right.

Yes.... That cannot be explained by anything!TheEvilCheese said:I like the idea of it being the first ever, but I don't think Moffat is going to do that to the continuity.Plinglebob said:Big, wild (but fun) guesses here, but I'm also calling Time Travel messes up Human DNA/feotuses and the Time Lords are actually evolved Humans with Amy's kid being either the 1st in a new generation or the first ever Time Lord.
As for the girl? Well it could be Jenny (Doctors clone/daughter) or his actual child (we know he has been a father before).
The bit that I really have no explenation for is the random person behind the door in the childrens home. It was just a bit too Life on mars for my brain.

Actually, you may have a point there... that sort of casual messing with history is one of the things I love about Dr. Who.Cpt Corallis said:I thought that bySpacewolf said:he brought him down? watergate hadnt happened yet Nixon was just asking if he would be rememberedCpt Corallis said:Also, did anyone notice that the Doctor single handedly brought down Nixon? 1. Telling him to record all conversations in the oval office to detect the Silence
2.Making him massively paranoid by 1. and revealing the existence of thousands of threats to Humanity that he could never be safe from and
3. swelling his ego by telling him that he will never be forgotten
He kinda set up all of Nixon's major problems and flaws.![]()
